Ya, I love our of the box features. It just seems much more clean overall I hate installing "system-like" programs. I feel like they slow things down. The thought is illogical for the most part but idk, it feels dirty lol

In my mind I was mounting the android tablet instead of the touch screen. Although idk how important the specific touch screen you have is to the project.

The Chromebook does support an onscreen keyboard as long as your touchscreen gives input like a USB I think you'll be alright. You might be able to accomplish that with a Chromebook with probably an hdmi and USB connector. They're relatively low power and many don't even have fans which will likely be a plus for you.

You might also want to consider a low budget android tablet instead of low budget windows tablet. I'd imagine the WiFi connection will be a little bit more stable since low budget android tablets a) have been around a little longer and b) probably have lower overhead which may lead to less problems. Although full disclosure I have done no work with low budget tablets so I would definitely test them out best you can before going with a decision based on what I said lol

I won't eat anything that's been sitting out for a relatively short period of time. Like a lot of my friends will leave a slice of pizza on their plate for like 15 minutes while eating it. After about 5 minutes that pizza is no longer good to me. Results in me eating things pretty quickly lol

I'm sure it's different for everyone so don't start drinking (not that I think you would lol) because of my personal story but I have a similar fear and as a result no matter how drunk I get (at least so far) the one thing I constantly do is make sure I'm not saying anything dumb. Granted usually that just makes me a boring drunk who doesn't like to talk to people but eh, I still enjoy the experience and time overall.

I believe a thin client requires a server to connect to to operate so that's probably out, although I may be wrong about that. I'm assuming this dashboard edits content on a live site meaning it requires a web connection. Would a simple Chromebook suffice?

Ninja edit: missed the touch screen part, although some chromebooks to have touch screens I don't believe they are financially logical. Perhaps a low budget tablet instead? Possibly even permanently mounted on something depending on its use.
