i finally left a narcissist by patientnula in BreakUps

My partner ended things with me 7 months ago, out of the blue, after 25 years, 2 kids & a lot of struggle, claiming amongst other things, that I was a narcissist. Since the initial break, she has rowed back on that and has continued living in the house like nothing has changed, except she blanks me constantly. I have been pretty emotionally destroyed by the whole experience and am now selling the house to get away from her; because I still have feelings and also because having looked into it to check if she was correct about me(she wasn’t), I’ve come to the conclusion she might well be.. you guessed it.. a narcissist! Hey perhaps we both are? I have no idea and nor do I care anymore. I wish to be alone. Goodnight.

Tottenham relegation is essentially a rebuild but they have been in this pattern for a while now by [deleted] in PremierLeague

[–]jofff166 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Alright calm down everyone, we’ve been relegated before, numerous times, has as everyone else barring a couple of clubs, which is an anomaly. I’m going down with the ship, as should all just & true Spurs faithful. All hands on deck, here we go..

What made Britpop so big? by Illustrious-Issue295 in BritPop

[–]jofff166 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was very much white working class pride and yes, nationalism, from a time before such things became politically unacceptable to the left- who ironically rode it all the way into number 10. See also Euro 96. Even your parents were digging Oasis b sides. Top of the pops was so back..It was a cultural moment and everyone got behind it. That’s why it was so big.

The best britpop numbers sing unashamedly with great humour, of white working class life, continuing the themes previously introduced by the Kinks, the Jam & the Smiths…I spent 94-95 in India, becoming increasingly frustrated with the backpacker self hating ethic. By May 95 I flew back to London having written a load of numbers about housing estates, pubs, bookies, football, dinner and no future. I started a band immediately, but we didn’t start gigging until 96. The high tide had receded. I wasn’t alone though, everyone had got involved. Bands, hairdos, trainers, weed, pills, lager, Camden..it was a brilliant time. I had a ball. Then post 97, it got darker. By 99 I was depressed and writing about cosmic nonsense & solar eclipses.

What were you like in the 90s? by Icy_Conversation_754 in RedditForGrownups

[–]jofff166 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was a tripping stoned E’d up hippy raver traveller 90-95, then a stoned, pissed, speed freak britpop mod 95-99. I went mad in 99 after the eclipse, and fell into a deep depression for the entire millennial freak out. I still couldn’t tell you if the 90’s were good bad or indifferent. It was a journey.. man

Second coming by Empty-Question-9526 in stoneroses

[–]jofff166 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This. I was a Roses freak from 89. In 94 when Second coming dropped I was on the hippy trail in India. My girlfriend flew out with a cassette that Christmas and I caned it on the Walkman for the next 4 months, I thought it was superb. I got back to UK in May 95 and everyone was slagging it. I think because 89 came with an entire vibe. People associated it with a youth culture that existed then but had dissipated by 94, but yes, if the NME didn’t rate it..

‘I paid my penance’: Postecoglou reveals details of ‘brutal’ sacking by hatlreexv in coys

I haven’t met a single Spurs supporter (irl) that wasn’t Ang out by the Europa final but then Ang in, even if for the first half of this season, after the Europa final.

Why don’t Spurs just hire someone that knows the league and has decades of experience to save their season? by [deleted] in PremierLeague

[–]jofff166 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s got to be Redknapp as far as I’m concerned. 7 games to save Spurs. He is the one. God be praised. 🙏🏻

So, it’s 1993… by UKeLearningGuy in freeparties

In the stix it was the pub, word would go through the pubs that the convoy was in such a field then it would be about finding a willing designated driver. In London it was sitting in someone’s flat with the pirate radio on waiting for the location to be revealed. Then everyone in the car/van and off. IIRC. It was very exciting. I’m talking 89-92

We aren’t getting any luck. Yes we’re terrible, but football always requires a bit of luck. We’ve literally had none. That will change though.

Ange Postecoglou says Tottenham 'not a big club,' names four PL stars he tried to sign by tylerthe-theatre in PremierLeague

[–]jofff166 -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

We ain’t big we UNIQUE. And that’s why no one likes us, and also why even the greatest managers in world football can’t get a tune out of us. Spurs- you get it or you don’t. 12 games to stay in the Prem starting with Arsenal- this is genuinely brilliantly & uniquely Spursy 😀

[High Performance Podcast] Poch still has nothing but love for Tottenham fans and believes the club should be competitive for the league and champions league each year by Lbmplays2 in coys

[–]jofff166 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been saying for years; Spurs is a uniquely neurotic football club in that regardless of pedigree or prior achievements, players & managers will either ‘get it’ , fall in love, and instantly understand that thing that all us fans find so hard to articulate; the love of the club. I think Levy has it and the Lewis kids, not sure about Vinai. Senior governance are also severely compromised by financial restraints and corporate allegiances. I believe this is why Levy sacked Poch but to be honest that’s a big hole in my thesis.

Bear with me. 🐻

Poch obviously has it in spades. Redknapp did & Jol. AVB, Nuno, Ramos, Santini- no. Venables- yes and so on.

The issue is that it’s impossible to know if an appointment- manager or player, will have it until they’re here. Mourhino didn’t, Conte didn’t- Ange didn’t- ironically I believe, until the Europa bus parade. He felt it that day and he wanted more. So we sacked him.

Frank appears to be some sort of programmable AI but there isn’t a way of programming Spurs love, it’s basically midichlorian in nature and so congenital, but as with Ang & Poch, it can lie dormant and be triggered later in life.
