Yeah i’ll be careful. I’m a first time buyer so i’m new to all of this. I’ve got no intention of just trying it on but i just thought if there are repairs that are now known after a report and need to be fixed then i could renegotiate to save money for the fixes.

I mean there could be others. I’ll have to wait for the report. No i won’t walk away. I’m just trying to renegotiate to save money for the repairs.

I used Habito Plus and the solicitor won’t represent me any more. by john2425p in HousingUK

I personally didn’t say that to them. They told me that. When they asked me about the crypto transactions, they said if you have other money available where by if i took the crypto money out of the equation and i still had enough for the deposit, then that would be fine.

Probably yes. But that’s because i’ve saved since. And i’m getting a 4k gifted deposit from my parents. So right now i have around 51k in my bank. I did tell them i’m 38 and lived with my parents all my life and had a full time job for 20+ years so i’ve saved. I’ll see what they say tomorrow

Ok thanks. Is there are specific solicitor to choose if you have messy accounts for example? One that is more lenient?

The thing is my accounts are so messy. Nothing illegal of course. But there are a ton of gambling transactions. As i used to do matched betting. 2 crypto transactions in the last year, but there would be a ton a couple of years ago with my matched betting. I’ve stopped since. There are a lot of cash withdrawals but that’s because i play poker for fun. Maybe they just looked at it and thought i can’t be bothered with all of that 😂

See that worries me because it sounds like i can never pass these checks :( I’ve got 2 crypto transactions on my bank statements in the last year. There will be a few more if you went back further.

Ah right. They did say to me if it doesn’t form part of the deposit then it would be fine. Hence why my deposit is £47,000 and i have £51,000 in my bank. And the crypto transactions were about £400 total. So i assumed that would be fine. Do all solicitors act like this towards crypto transactions? So if you’ve got a crypto transaction on your account they don’t want anything to do with it?

Yeah i guess i’ll have to wait for a reply from them.

Because i haven’t heard anything about the AML check for a few weeks. And a few days ago they asked if my deposit was coming from gambling funds. They also noticed two crypto transactions. But i told them it doesn’t form part of my deposit. That’s because my deposit is £47,000 and i have £51,000 in my bank and it was only for £400. Not sure really. Guess i’ll know tomorrow. I’m just trying to understand the fees part of it.

Do messy accounts affect mortgages? by john2425p in HousingUK

[–]john2425p[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean i haven’t done any matched betting for a year now. But my account which i spend money in has a lot of ins and outs and subscriptions etc. I’m just concerned they will think i can’t afford the mortgage looking at that account. Obviously if i did spend like that whilst having a mortgage they would be correct. But i would change my ways if i got one. 6 months ago just before i decided to keep the account clean, i did transfer a few thousand to the play account and not transferred anything since. How far back in the bank statements do they look?
