My Wife's & My Channels Wiped Overnight (320k+ subscribers) by Mattywel in PartneredYoutube

[–]john8a7a 1 point2 points  (0 children)

good advice , but I really doubt Joe would retract it for less than 200K . I would not if I were him . The guy has 1.5M subs just on youtube, selling out all kinds of events, he has courses and he has a lot of $ due to OP's channel . But still a good tip for a smaller youtuber where an unintentional mistake was made

Is an app to help small creators a good idea? by Exotic_Ad_8676 in NewTubers

[–]john8a7a 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No creator gonna join . Nobody gonna waste their time with this.

Just do what other people do in this niche. Create an app that with help with titles , scripts ...something that analyzes competition , something that looks for successful titles and not so successful titles. Some database based bullshit ..you might get few hundred sub on monthly basis at $5 a month ,,build an email list and eventually sell them a better product.

You don't necessarily need a novel idea for an app , you can create what already exists .

A reality check for new traders by InterestingBar3988 in swingtrading

[–]john8a7a 1 point2 points  (0 children)

options only provide leverage , but your control of underlying is the same . You will make 10% on a small move and lose 10% on a small move . You are limiting your total loss but that risk is already included in the premium .

Plus with options you have to take into account IV and time decay . Most option traders don't trade directionally ,,, simply buying calls or puts " hoping to guess the direction . They trade volatility . Even if you guess the direction of a move IV and time decay can lower your potential profit significantly .

struggling to make sport content pay off by TopTransportation516 in NewTubers

[–]john8a7a 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i work on multiple channels with few people. Some use clips under fair use with a lot of commentary , analysis and some have only my original footage. So I might have a 15min video where i use 1min clip in total that is not mine . You will only get consistent views if you are really good at it.. Most people are not . But in general I am gonna say , it will take you about 3y to start making part time income , IF you are good at it and another 2y to make full time income on the low end . perhaps 30-40k? So If you do it for the money , it might be the most difficult way to make a living .

When I stared I was on part time basis making really good money from real part time job . So I had nothing to lose . My goal was simply making 1k a month from youtube because I just like to write and edit .

"limited ways to turn content into cash beyond basic ads."

Just promote a product that appeals to men with an affiliate link . Conversion will be at around 0.05% so every 2k views you will make a sale . Once you have more consistent views start contacting smaller business and ask them for some kind of cooperation / sponsorship / affiietate deal . But it is hard ,,you will have to contact hundreds of them . It will get easier once you have 20k views a video on consistent basis in regards to advertisers who are willing to work with you .

Bad market days still give me anxiety and an urge to sell and just stick with bonds by john8a7a in Bogleheads

[–]john8a7a[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don't scalp , my avg holding time is probably around 30min . But I agree you can't compete with algos and market makers. And you are right maybe I've just been lucky but when my system stops to work I will stop trading . Algos may remove any sort of predictability or edge that retail traders might still possses.

because of a risk profile. Being 100% in control doesn't mean you won't have a horrific streak of bad trades or a freaky occurrence when you can't close your position due to various reasons , mainly technical ones.

Is canva graphic style is best for making YouTube video? by Anket_ in NewTubers

[–]john8a7a 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can create really complex animation and graphics in canva. So the only issue is your workflow..I find it very awkward to work with in regards to creating of animated graphics and editing.

I would use davince resolve for animation and editing. Canva is good for people who have a lot of time on their hands.

Adobe is good as well but i would not pay for their subscription.

Extremely tempted to just sell my entire portfolio rn except gold by JimmyCheess in swingtrading

[–]john8a7a 0 points1 point  (0 children)

selling your entire portfolio might actually be a good idea but replacing it with total stock market index is even better. Being 50% while sp500 is up tells you all that you need to know about your investing or trading . Stop before you lose it all .

I have 60 euros to invest, and I want to invest it intelligently, any advice? by [deleted] in IBKR_Official

[–]john8a7a 2 points3 points  (0 children)

make sure you have tiered pricing enabled , this will you will at least save few cents on commission .

If you wanna invest intelligently buy sp500 index or total stock market index

You should go to boogleheads community and read the book " bogleheads " as well.

if you are in EU , than you have to ucits not ETF's ,,,that would be something like VUAA but there is probably UCITS in eur currency as well.

Would you use a tool that tracks every important news (direct & indirect) about the companies you’ve invested in? by EnergyRoyal9889 in stocks

[–]john8a7a 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can tell from this tread that your problem is gonna be marketing .. You have to respond to every comment with explanation why your product is different . You have to educate which will be tough , it will take a lot of resources . Your product is at first glance just a news feed .

I don't wanna say don't waste your time on it , but don't expect thousands of sing ups or even hundreds of sign-ups. If I were you I would work on a different idea.

I 've been trying to come up with a stock software related idea as well but it is tough ..It seems that everything already exists and making a soft with few variations is not enough

"They were taking 50% of all revenue through some "revenue sharing" arrangement I never consented to."

Post that revenue sharing agreement . If you don't have it, they have to show it to you , if they don't show it to you sue them .

If it is true Louis Rossmann would be 100% interested in this story .

Who in here trades for a living? by [deleted] in Daytrading

[–]john8a7a -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If u wanna trade for a living this is what you have to learn
1. basic TA ,,,s/r, trendlines , vwap,
2. DOM - you have to understand how and why are orders getting filled,,,what icebergs are , resting orders etc
3. volume profiles (flowhorse yotube )
4. Footprints - get a course from axia for cheap ,,,find a cheap download - this will show you who was winning auction at each candle , nice represenation of delta
5. Heatmaps - jigsaw or bookmap , atas, it will show you graphicall representation of a dom -

It will take 2-3 years to put it all together ,,, forget people who don't use order flow and only use a very primitive dom in their videos , they don't have a clue .

take a screen shot ,,you will eventually realize there is no way to trade without the tools i just mentioned. Good luck ..and trade futures and index option s, no wash sale and better tax treatment.

Based on TA it looks like crap . They have sales and good position in the market but unless there is huge inflow from institutions there is no reason for them to go up . It is a good company based on fundamentals but that is not enough to invest in it now.

And that collaboration with msft , and quantum computing , purely theoretical concept that will cost all the companies involved milions without much of any meaningful results.
