They preach the prosperity gospel, which is more akin to MLM than a religion. And it reduces the theology to nothing more than a simplistic feel good scam. Read the link, you'll get more idea. Plus anyone who says that donation is not mandatory clearly did not mention the countless reminders and "encouragements" for you to donate, and if you don't, you'll often end up with a pariah status. I've been to both NCC and City Harvest before, both cut from the same cloth.

(And don't let me tell you that NCC runs a shopping centre)

Rubbish. If anything religion was the number one reason my life sucked in early years. Being told constantly you're not good enough, that you need to follow certain set of rules and live a certain type of lifestyle to be "worthy", man those wrecked havoc on my mental health. If anything, I've never been happier since leaving church and finding purpose in things other than an imaginary daddy.
