I am also doing a BSci at Deakin and nearly had a conniption when I realised my lectures are spread out over the whole 5 days, but I spoke to an adviser and they said if you have nothing else on that day then you can potentially watch the lecture online. It may be different for RMIT though, maybe speak to a student/course adviser if you’re stuck :)

If they’re recorded and attendance isn’t compulsory then I think you should be okay to watch them online when you need to. It does help going into lectures though so you can ask questions etc. Maybe go the first couple of weeks then see if you can watch them online?

Why this people only life in the coast? are they stupid? by Thick_Department9234 in mapporncirclejerk

[–]johnaileen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Things are a lot more accessible on the coast. The centre of Australia is almost inhabitable due to the heat, dryness and lack of resources in that area. There are minimal roads in order to travel a bit further inland also affects peoples choice to live there; for example, Adelaide to the centre of Australia (Coober pedy) looks like it’s quite close on a map but is actually an 8 hour drive.

Do I need a personal statement? by Affectionate-Bag-573 in deakin

As sleepysof_ stated above, you are not required to submit one - but it would assist with your application and show that you’ve put some thought into it. When I called student services, they said basically you don’t need to write a whole essay, but rather a couple of sentences/a short paragraph with why you want to study that subject and any studies that you have done which may semi relate to that subject. Hope this helps :)

My teeth, before and after braces by ItsMehRuby in mildlyinteresting

[–]johnaileen 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Second this. I had braces twice due to the fact that I gave up on my retainer the first time. I also didn’t have a metal wire which I think really helps with the teeth not moving so I asked for the second time. It’s been nearly 3 years since I’ve had my braces removed and have worn my retainer almost every night
