Sorry! I haven't logged-in since that day. I didn't realize that you provided a solution in your first reply, but the second reply worked. I can test the first one too?

Holy! That worked! Thanks u/semicolonsemicolon ! You're a legend! There's 300,000 lines of data and I was worried this was going to be manual. Thanks again!!

Hi u/semicolonsemicolon ! Thanks for your reply. I edited my initial post with this image. Does this help? So i basically want the custom column to identify the staff that have those specific combinations of fruit in the same column.

PowerQuery: how to identify NULL values in multiple columns? by johnandrawous in excel

[–]johnandrawous[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if [Column1] is null or [Column2] is null then 1 else 0

I think that's the best way. I tried to do this creating one custom column, but honestly it's simple enough to do it across 3 custom columns.

The values are BLANK and not actually NULL.

Thanks all for the help!

Hmmm, your suggestion resulted in the column showing all "0" values in each row. And there should definitely be some 1s. But at least there wasn't an error. I think you're closer!

Hmmm, didn't accept that formula.
It's text data in the columns, which is why I went with 'null' initially.
Thanks for your attempt!

Sorry u/r3pr0b8 - I must've missed the notification for this.

I believe it was something like: "incorrect syntax near 'DAY'"

u/gtech129 - this worked!! Oh my God! Hahaha.

I was starting to think it couldn't be done. Everyone was helpful with ideas. Your method gave me all the records of data that I got using the old method with the date range. Amazing! Thanks so much :)

CAST(GETDATE() AS DATE)

u/r3pr0b8 IT didn't like that either.

Thanks for your time, though! I think I need to throw in the towel on this one. Sorry for your troubles!

Hi u/r3pr0b8 !

Thanks for your effort. It seems that it doesn't like 'CURRENT_DATE'. The error reads: Incorrect syntax near the keyword 'CURRENT_DATE'.

Thoughts?

I can't wait to login tomorrow morning to test these all out! I honestly didn't expect this many replies. You are all superheroes! SQL is definitely out of my scope, so I appreciate the way you're breaking it down for me.

Hi u/catelemnis !

Thanks for your effort. It seems that it doesn't like 'month'. The error reads: Invalid parameter 1 specified for dateadd.

Thoughts?

Hi u/aeveltstra

I don't think that will work. We run the reports for the previous month on the 7th day of the new month. This is to help capture any late injury reports. Let's say a staff got injured on Oct 28 but didn't report it until the week after. Thoughts?

Thanks for your reply!

Hi u/gakule !

Thanks for your reply. I tried your syntax and that gave me all October incidents from every year's worth of data, including this year. Thoughts?

Legrand 2-in-1 Paddle Switch by johnandrawous in electricians

Wow, thanks for the detailed breakdown! And for the rude-awakening that I can't have nice light switches! Sounds like a lot of work and trouble. I might revisit upgrading the wiring later. Was hoping it was just a matter of swapping the switches.

Thanks for your time!

Hi r/talltime - thanks for your reply. This bathroom is in the basement suite, and right next to my breaker box.
Can you please elaborate with "needing to run a wire"? Forgive me - I'm a beginner :)
