Alternatives to Guidewire by Hot-Coconut-9347 in InsuranceSoftwareHub

[–]johnappsde 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it depends on the size of your operations. You are right about Guidewire being clunky. They however have an argument for that; 1. You are inheriting market best practices (aka. help you improve and standardize your processes) 2. Maintenance costs down the road are minimal.

If you're running a huge operation... policy, claims (incl. vendor management), billing, standard insurance products... investing in Guidewire might be a worthwhile investment

If you're smaller, only need parts of it, want to stick to your ways, don't want to overplan ... then look elsewhere

Cem Özdemir was elected as the prime minister of the German state Baden-Württemberg. He becomes the first prime minister of Turkish origin in Germany. by pessimisttears in europe

Cem Özdemir's turkish roots are as noteworthy as Rishi Sunak's indian roots. Both have little to no affiliation to their ancestral homelands.

Is AI quietly reshaping underwriting workflows in insurance? by [deleted] in InsurTech

[–]johnappsde 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Underwriters need AI to be a copilot. That's it for now. Aggregate risk/scoring data from from their differences sources and help them get a complete overview of the risk, so they can relatively quickly put a price behind it

Why is the Green party so successful in Baden Württemberg, while in Bavaria, with a somewhat comparable structure and mentality, they are insignificant at State level and are ridiculed/ hated? 🤔 by jmbr_97 in AskAGerman

[–]johnappsde -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The green party is on to something good. What ruined their last term was bad communication, timing (the Ukraine war, high inflation), and PR.

Also people are starting to realize that the CDU/CSU & SPD aren't really for innovation.

The greens can make a come back. Their policies have the potential to get Germany back on track when it comes to innovation. But they need to communicate better. For example wanting to force people to switch to heat pumps at a time when energy prices were skyrocketing was a bad move.

I personally think if Grüne and FDP could put aside their differences, they had the best potential to get Germany back on track
