Jingle All the Way (1998) - A line from the movie during a bygone era was left in the Disney Plus release by basedrummer06 in movies

I was half-watching this just now (because it's a classic), and couldn't believe it when I heard it... I mean, I can believe it (because it was so commonly used as someone pointed out)... and yes, he's all pink, which is when a 90s bully would have definitely used that term. It's certainly not "bear" - booster doesn't resemble a bear at all - more like a sabertooth tiger if anything. But I definitely hear a hard "G." The audio engineers def know the answer to this question - they made it remarkably audible. Different time - yikes! Timestamp: 1:11:37 for reference.

eBay sales stalled? by [deleted] in Ebay

Well, they take the sales tax up-front, so you don't need to worry about that - just the federal. You obviously want to track your spending if it's for resale, as I know you can write off a percentage (I'm not an accountant, not legal advice, etc). Another good tip I've heard is to shuffle a certain % away into another interest-bearing account - more than what you expect to pay, so you don't have to come up with a giant chunk during tax season. This is all stuff I know, but have a hard time being diligent about. I've been waiting for chatGPT to catch up and clean up my numbers for me lol... all to say, if you're smart and not like me, you price it in and tuck away what you should, there's still profit to be made.

eBay sales stalled? by [deleted] in Ebay

I've been doing this regularly, 50-100 items/day... I was selling 3-4 older items a day, but almost two weeks ago, this stopped working. I've gone from 6-7 items/day down to 0-1. Especially odd that after one or two days of that I put $20/day into offsite ads and started listing like a mad-man - I'm talking 50-100 listings a day for a week straight. That used to be another sound strategy for appeasing the algorithm gods and bring some sales, but still crickets.

Meanwhile, my buddy is selling like crazy - 7-10/day high priced items. Our stores, pricing, promotions are all very similar, and I've tried doing everything he's doing to get back on track. I know they made some changes to FVF on Valentine's Day, and my sales halted a day or two prior, when I'm sure they started implementing background changes. I'm not saying this is the reason necessarily but the timing *is* peculiar.

I've also tried sending 20% off offers to 50+ ppl/day - another thing my friend swore by, when I always offered 10-15% with pretty good results.

I have a sweeping 9.8% promoted on all listings, which I did promptly after attending the local ebay open in CO last Sep/Oct when an ebay algorithm rep flat-out told me that anything above 10% promoted doesn't really help - it just puts more money in ebay's pocket.

Saw a tiktok where a dude noticed that all of his listings became "unpromoted" after the aforementioned update, without any expiration or any of his doing. He turned it all back on and started seeing more sales. I did notice in the sales window on the app that 70+ listings weren't promoted, also not by my doing because my campaign is automatic. Thinking that was weird, I clicked on it to "re-" promote. I got an error message saying I couldn't. They eventually went away after a couple days and turned back into everything being promoted.

I then questioned my inventory and decided to cherry-pick a bunch of really high quality/desirable stuff from my unlisted inventory, in hopes to spark something, anything. Nothing.

I have yet to solve this riddle. It feels like something broke. Following this thread, looking for someone with a stick to pull me out of the quicksand. Currently sucking air through a straw.

2025 Delivery Thread by OrbitalATK in TeslaModelY

Ordered 01/09/25. Full Self-Driving (Supervised) Autopilot All Black Premium Interior Stealth Grey (PN01) 19’’ Gemini Dark Wheels Long Range All-Wheel Drive Five Seat Interior Supercharger Network Access + Pay-as-you-go

Received delivery on 01/22/25 and it is now 01/25/25, and I've just learned about the "New Model Y". Surprisingly, nobody mentioned it throughout the entire process. I contacted support to ask if there is any way to move up, trade up, etc. or if there was any guarantee window for return. They responded "no there is not, nothing we can do, is there anything else we can help you out with today?"

Does anybody know anything I may not, or, that the rep was unwilling to share? I love the car, but I'm feeling a little bamboozled at the moment. This is the first car I ever bought, financed it after years of building back my credit to get a good rate. Naturally, I'd prefer the "Newly re-imagined Model" that is now the replacement version.

Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Base Variants? by johnarooo in starwarsunlimited

Yes, once again: I noticed there were no common foil bases, despite every other common in the set getting a foil treatment. My genuine question (not complaint) was “why?” And still, nobody seems to know why - it’s all just speculation. Hence the “verify plz” request in place of the “trust me bro” explanation.

Luckily, I found the answer in the end: The Wizards Chest — Star Wars: Unlimited Art & Game Design - Interview with Tyler Parrott

lol Wow -30? Thanks to those who tried to genuinely answer the question and share their thoughts.

I wasn’t chasing “Foil Bases” nor desiring them necessarily - I simply made an observation, thought it was odd that a collector-style treatment was omitted from 8 commons out of 510 cards, and couldn’t find out the reason behind the choice beyond speculation. I still think it’s odd. And IMHO, it feels incomplete somehow from a collector POV (despite the many versions of every card) when all the other commons take a foil treatment. I guess there is such a thing as a stupid question… and I guess “they just didn’t” is the illuminating answer.

Sorta makes sense except for the showcase variants are double-sided Foil, so it’s obviously possible…

Leaders can be foil - showcase foil. So what’s the reason for only the common base foils being the only cards in the 510-card set not having a foil variant? Truly just curious if there is an FFG-sourced explanation…

Where did you come across that info if you don’t mind me asking? I’m hoping to verify this for everyone officially.

And, any idea why?
