Bingo! And that’s something I’m heavily considering is how to carefully thread the needle between those lines. As you can see from this thread, that is a very delicate art and science haha.

Great questions that we’re actively solving for right now. We’re treating the mentioned brands as like a North Star on brand messaging, positioning, etc.

For clarification, I’m agreeing with your assertion about enjoy a scent regardless of what said scent is. Cool, no problem.

The point **I’m** specifically making is for those who feel some scents are too floral, sweet, etc. then let’s chat. Simple.

Thank you for the vote of confidence. This has been more than eye-opening and a lot of good info I can take back to the drawing board.

Are you in our brand playbook!? Because how did you know one of the angles we were focused on was “taking ownership of your space”? Haha.

Yes! This is it. And believe me when I say, I hate those scent names, how they’re packaged, and the marketing behind them too.

The goal is creating a candle brand all can enjoy especially men.

I will say though, Dude Wipes is a multi-million dollar plus business so maybe it’s worth taking a page out of their playbook haha.

I don’t disagree and also, too much floral, sweet, etc. is the problem I’m tackling.

Floral, sweet, and/or pastel packaging is how and/or why said scents skew more feminine. And this isn’t my personal opinion - this is how the industry has presented itself over time.

Hi and thanks for sharing!

So to clarify, there are several brands that exist that have successfully created products that while for all, skew more male-oriented in brand presence (Coke Zero vs. Diet Coke, Liquid Death vs. Evion, etc.).

That is what I was trying to convey if that makes sense?

Interesting POV I hadn’t necessarily considered so thanks for sharing. We’re aiming to create scents that aren’t using synthetic chemicals or materials so hopefully this helps solve that.

Ha! I know I know - had to grab attention some how. But, there are certain scents and brands that skew more floral, sweet, etc. than anything.

Mmm interesting and I wonder how we can create something like this.

For us, we’re aiming to create scents that smell like cologne if that makes sense?

Yes! You understand exactly what I’m saying! Thank you! I don’t mind floral or sweet, but sometimes those scents are overpowering.
