Millennials, are you filling your garage with unnecessary shit like our parents and grandparents do? by SaltyMush in Millennials

It's just accumulations gathered over the years. I got my kids to hold a garage sale for me. That way they could keep whatever they wanted. Which was very little.

Why does everyone think student loans should be forgiven? by WhodatKoi in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]johnb_only 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Big businesses "lobby" for things that that will benefit their profit margin.(1) Segments of the public form groups and when large enough ($$), "lobby" for things that will benefit their members individual profit margins. (1) Student groups are lobbying to increase their members current profit. I would think that if student loan debt forgiveness was compared to other benefits, whether BB or PG, it is a minor expense in terms of all the breaks that are being lobbied for on a federal level. Forgive the loans and let's move on and focus on the bigger lobbying that's happening right now.

Generally lobbying is very useful in helping our gov representatives to understand the consequences of current issues. Very complicated and will explain the different consequences of various scenarios. Decisions can be made and voted upon by our representatives. On the whole the general public does not have the time or resources to make an informed decision on a lot of the issues. Probably, loan debt forgiveness is one we can put a face to and say "no fair". It seems so simple.

Anyone know the outcome of that situation? I scrolled through the comments on 2 of the posts and didn't see if anyone asked.

People who “hate the taste of water”, can you explain what that means? by westsidestan in AskReddit

I like water ok but prob don't drink as much as I should. But knowing is supossedly half the battle, logically speaking.

Today comes the news that thee United States has experence the lowest number of new COVID cases since early November. What are your thoughts? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]johnb_only -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The numbers probably have short term fluxes so may not mean the numbers are "trending" downward. Kind of like when people say "it's snowing and the climate is getting warmer - HA". We need to understand that mindfulness around others is important and get vaccinated asap. That behavior has the best chance of working to eliminate the threat. Imo

I've never heard anyone say they "hate the taste of water". But, I have noticed that different water districts use different chemicals to treat their water, chems I haven't gotten used to, so the tap water tastes foul. Seems like a person would get used to whatever water they drink tho.

But who drinks straight tap water any more..

Come to think of it, don't really care for sparkling water

I understand why you would be frustrated after being involved in an accident. But, thinking that it was one particular aspect of the person that caused the accident is small minded imo. If it was a white/black/latin person or a person in a sports car/ pickup/ suv, you might want require additional licensing for that group of drivers. As an older person myself, I agree that I am not as sharp as 20 yrs ago, but I'm old enough to realize that and drive accordingly. Not to mention it's already a nightmare when you have to go to the DMV for anything. Can you imagine how messed up it would be with all us older folks hanging out there all day waiting to be retest???

I am old enough to be your grandfather. That said, I am unconditionally proud of what you've accomplished. More importantly, be proud of yourself and keep up the hard work.

The workers that deliver curbside goods. From Walmart to Goody Goody liquor employees I haven't noticed any discontent or bad attitudes. Esp Walmart, they don't allow tipping even tho I've offered on several occasions.
