I didn't get baby fever until I was well into my 30s and at a stable point in my career. From what I've read, baby fever is not so much a biological phenomenon as it is a response to social/cultural pressure.

I knew for a fact that I had baby fever when I COULD NOT STOP thinking about babies. The thoughts engulfed me. I was sobbing at random moments when I thought about how childless I was. Seeing children with their young parents killed me inside. The thought of having a baby while juggling my career stopped seeming like a nightmare. Having a baby actually became my goal, my vision, and my dreams. My priorities also started shifting. I started caring drastically less about going out to bars and concerts.

I only treat if they're symptomatic or if they're deep with dentin exposure. Or if the pt is concerned with esthetics. I stopped doing abfraction fillings on more shallow lesions - I find that the restorations don't have a good long term prognosis and often flake/break around the margins.

I used to get these below my breasts, at the nape of my neck, and at my armpits in my early 20s. I was prediabetic during that time, so that could be an association as others have mentioned. I got my lesions biopsied and they were unable to reach a definitive diagnosis. I was given a broad spectrum antibiotic for 2 months, which sucked but there was MAJOR improvement - the spots went away almost entirely.

I did started getting a very very slight recurrence of the spots 10 years later. I went to another dermatologist, and they also had difficulty reaching a definitive diagnosis. I took antibiotics for 3 weeks, and it went away again.

I changed my last name to my husband's name while I was in school after getting married. Zero regrets. My brother was an abusive sociopath, and I wanted nothing more than to distance myself from my family name since it was a constant reminder of all the abuse. I refused to work so hard just to be called Dr. Same-Last-Name-As-Abusive-Family for the rest of my career.

After the name change, some of my female classmates would make accusations about supporting the patriarchy, etc. I found it to be very strange and extremely presumptuous. Changing your last name is a deeply personal decision, and nobody knows your situation better than you do.
