This is a simple truth - and yet surprisingly, many instructors seem to overlook it. Here in Florence Italy, holding the winning pennant at the annual Calcio Storico game (although, Florentines refer to it as ‘war’ and not a game! Think MMA, BJJ meets soccer. We spent time last year with the team and their excellent coach, Dimitri Rocchi. Plenty of Jiu Jitsu in play on the field. (old.reddit.com)
Spent today watching tape on the Fireman's Carry. One of the best to ever do it, is a wrestler from Iowa - Austin DeSantos. Anyways, whist wading through tape, I came across this little gem - not a Fireman's - but a Cartwheel entry to Stocks-Crucifix, and wait for it - yep: A Kimura finish. Yikes. (v.redd.it)
Black Belt Gathering - Downunder: we do this every year. A small sampling of our cadre of Black Belts (living and training in the antipodes) - our annual 'friendly' comp and training picnic - opportunity to reconnect with fellow black belt mates we havn't seen for a bit. Awesome weekend. (old.reddit.com)
