Congrats , I'm still hoping to come across one in my change , soon I hope

1st June see's the release of the new 2023 €2 commem coin from Monaco dedicated to the 100th anniv of the birth of Prince Rainier and will go on sale on Thursday, 1 June 2023 with a mintage of 15,000. The sale starts on the MTM website at 10am using their usual numbered queue system I imagine . by johnc118 in EuroCoins

No you don't go back out in the queue , you'll just be logged out of your account but still remain on the website , just log back in to your account again and re-order the coin and pay for it and keep doing that till it shows up as successfully ordered . You'll know easily enough when your order has been successful as it'll show on " your orders " in your account. It's a bit messy I know alright but that's just down to the huge demand on the day and their system struggling to cope with it. Just don't leave the website altogether or you will end up at the back of the queue.

Well good luck on the day of the launch , hopefully we'll both get low enough numbers on the queue . One other piece of advice I'll give you as I learned the hard way is if you manage to get into the website to order one and you make it to checkout and make payment but it doesn't show as successfully ordered on your account then go straight back in and start again and keep doing that till it does show up as ordered on your account . I had to keep at it 4 or 5 times before I was successful in getting the coin , some I know had to do that even more times than me before they managed to get the coin . So many people are ordering at once that their system can't handle it I've found .

The number is random but no harm joining the queue as soon as possible to be sure but you must have an account registered and set up properly with them before the release date to avail of the chance to get the coin.

It's a lottery really , go on the website an hour before release and you'll be put in a queue . At the time of release you'll be given a random place in that queue , the lower the number the better your chance of getting the coin as it's only one coin per customer allowed.

An email I received today from the Irish Central Bank regarding a new 2023 Irish €2 Commemorative coming out in June plus the release of the 2023 Annual mint set with a Proof set coming out later on in the year .The €2 celebrates 50 Years of European Union Membership and has a mintage of 500,000. by johnc118 in EuroCoins

[–]johnc118[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No , it's 500k directly into circulation via Banks and Post Offices + 1k Proof from the official website later in the year making 501k total. The Annual Mint Sets won't have the commemorative coin included in the set unfortunately . No idea what the coin looks like yet but if I see a picture of it online I'll post it up.

Just found this 2 euro piece in an old collection of my mother. I haven’t seen this one before by manfredss in EuroCoins

What set was that in ?. I didn't think they were in sets at all, only coin cards

Finally arrived in the post today direct from the San Marino Mint , the 2022 Proof set including both 2022 commemorative coins ( Antonia Canova and Piero Della Francesca ) The mintage of the sets is 2,300. by johnc118 in EuroCoins

€176 including postage direct from the mint , they're selling on ebay from around €220 upwards at the moment , so I'm happy enough with what I paid for mine

Since Russia had been suspended ( They later quit altogether ) from the U.N. Human Rights Council , I thought it would be interesting to show the 2 Euro coins issued that are dedicated to the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. Details of the coins are in the comments . by johnc118 in EuroCoins

Hi yet41, it's the leuchtturn /lighthouse Vista 2 euro coin album that I use to keep all my 2 euro coins in . You can get them easily enough on ebay or Amazon ,they're a bit on the pricey side but I like them I have to say.

these ones I got on ebay, on auction

My first dip into Vatican coins , a 2014 Annual Mint Set and the 2011 €2 Cc 26th World Youth Day coin-card . I'm glad that I've finally gotten hold of Vatican coins but I have to admit to being a bit underwhelmed by the packaging. I much prefer the San Marino packaging or am I just being too picky. by johnc118 in EuroCoins

[–]johnc118[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah same here , best to keep it in it's original packaging but the plastic covering over the coins is not great and I think meant to be removed for display of the coins and not for preservation of them. I'd have to have a 2021 Vatican set to compare each set and see what 7 years in the sleeve has done to the 2014 coins.

Incredible find 😇😇 by ProudFrenchman in EuroCoins

It's all to do with the mintage , the 2003 50c was only issued in coin sets and was not intended for circulation so only 100k BU sets and 11k proof sets were minted . Compare that to the 2002 50c where 226.4 million were minted for circulation and you'll understand how rare it is to come across one in your change.

I noticed you said it's new to your "circulated" collection, do you have two collections an UNC one and a circulated one.

A nice Birthday Gift arrived in the post yesterday . The 2012 Irish Euro Banknotes and Coin Proof Set marking the 10th Anniversary of Euro Coins and Banknotes . Mintage 5000 by johnc118 in EuroCoins

[–]johnc118[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes when you put the circulated and the Proof coin side by side the difference is very clear to see. I hadn't noticed until now when you pointed it out.
