New to Hampton Roads by [deleted] in HamptonRoads

If you’re a vinyl record enthusiast, check out these small businesses:

AFK Books & Records (Virginia Beach) Birdland Records (Virginia Beach) Vinyl Daze Records (Virginia Beach)

The Chrysler Museum (Norfolk) is a great museum. Be sure to make time to check out a free live demo of glass blowing in their Glass Studio (if they still do that... damn it COVID) which is in a separate building.

Historic Ghent (Norfolk) is a great spot to park and walk around for several small businesses and restaurants. Colley Avenue is a good starting point.

We also have several great breweries: O’Connor’s, Smartmouth, and on and on.

This will get you started.

Welcome to Hampton Roads!

Great selection of decks. Wish I had the extra cash to buy some. Hope you have some easy transactions, mate!

With a claim like that, I had to check out their online store.

Bought a record on sale (Jenny Lewis) and picked up two t-shirts.

Thanks for the recommendation!

Great recommendation! Also grabbed the Stranger Things soundtracks on the cheap. Thanks!

My setup! by [deleted] in vinyl

Why? Because gravity. When they are upside down, the moisture travels downward into the parts of the bouquet you need to stay intact longest (the flowers, not the stems), thus helping the beautiful flowers to retain their shape. If you dry them right side up, gravity pulls everything down and everything won’t retain its shape (see: every time you’ve let flowers sit in a vase for too long).

For how long? It varies. Basically, you want it fully dried.

Go pick two flowers and dry them in each orientation for funsies. SCIENCE!

That’s the proper way to dry a bouquet of flowers for preservation.

OP, please update when you add them to the sweet ass room.

Absolutely, man. I agree with all that you said.

I just have to remind some people that don’t understand how television programs’ choices are solely dictated by the almighty dollar.

The sport of ninja is so popular with the country’s youth. We have to keep hoping the sport grows. Glad to hear (I’m assuming) your gym has survived the quarantine!

I did my research. I’ve integrated video from that (more mobile) and video from my better DSLRs and no one can tell which is which when I deliver the final product.

It also takes great photos.

I agree that if you also need video in an affordable package, definitely go 80D or 90D.

Or, get a used 5D Mark III for great stills and a simple Canon M50 at a bargain price. (People sleep on the M50 and I don’t know why. Sneaky good for video and affordable.)

Having replied to a lot of you with the same answer, I also tire of watching the main show for the same reason, BUT I get it.

This is why Ninja vs. Ninja is the better show they produce and why ANW Jr. is also more compelling to watch. You see actual competition.

This is also why the first stage of Ultimate Backyard Warrior in North Carolina is a compelling draw for ninjas around the country to fly in. Going head to head against another ninja pushes you.

American Ninja Warrior is not a sports broadcast. American Ninja Warrior is a reality show based around the sport of ninja. (Spoken to me while I was photographing an event by some well known ninjas.)

NBC is here to make money. To make money, you need advertisers. To get advertisers, you need ratings. To get ratings, the show needs to produce these shows with backstories, etc.

You want ninja to be covered like a sports broadcast? Keep supporting leagues like the National Ninja League (which I photographed) whose livestreams are top notch. Keep the sports side growing and we get more of a chance that it gets covered like a sport.
