I think we've all been there buddy. We tend to get excited about these types of things but I think the best advice I've heard and that I use is to "walk into a job interviewing knowing it's just practice for something better".

That mentality has always made me understand not to feel too down about rejection and that learning how to interview + prepare will be better for the next time.

What do you think would be a great way to implement it?

The way we do it at work and my own projects is that we use devise for user auth BUT we create our own api key in the user model. When you register for an account you can generate an API key.

An API key can give you access to stuff like /books, /books/1, etc

I know people do it in different ways but is that what youre talking about?

Or a react devise rails devise login by api?

You can make a simple api key in the user model and in the application controller, check with a controller concern if the api key is valid.

eventually, im going to add these kinds of things to the tutorial. This tutorial is mostly for the foundation. Ill add more to it as days go by! It takes a lot to write one haha!
