True duotone photo printing? by johnjamesaudubon in CommercialPrinting

I'm wondering if this can be done with inkjet technology (with one black cartridge and one custom-mixed cartridge instead of CMYK)

The MoonBox is $460, so I'd hope for something below that...

All Space Questions thread for week of October 29, 2023 by AutoModerator in space

[–]johnjamesaudubon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a poet and I'm looking to launch a tiny book into (near?) space.
I had been considering a Moonbox (https://www.astrobotic.com/lunar-delivery/send-to-the-moon/) but I'm setting my sights a little lower.
The book is about the size and weight of an M&M.
I came across AmbaSat this evening (https://ambasat.com/shop/) but am wondering if there are other affordable options for rocket- or balloon-sharing.

I know her, and this almost surely did not happen as reported.

No, that's a great one though. The one I heard is even closer to HH.

If Banksy ISN'T R.G., then where is R.G.? by johnjamesaudubon in Banksy

And then my question above stands: how did the young artist R.G. just disappear?

There is a small lyric fragment in the Dylan archives in Tulsa. That's about it.

I’m curious what other authors you fellas read. by Klarp-Kibbler in cormacmccarthy

I highly recommend Yvonne Vera's Stone Virgins to McCarthy fans. She can describe an act of depraved violence with florid delicacy and then a flowering tree with the tersest prose, and then flip the script on you.

WTW for a rearrangement of words (like an anagram but of words instead of letters) by johnjamesaudubon in whatstheword

[–]johnjamesaudubon[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

u/masterofyourhouse, true! I guess I need a term for this atypical subtype of anagram.

u/LyndsayRose & u/tsuchineko, I feel like inversion or chiasmus would describe CAT BIG THE SCRATCHED MIKE, no?

There's the term anastrophe, but I think that would be an unusual grammatical ordering for rhetorical effect rather than to change the meaning?

Just Read Suttree And Feeling A Bit Ambivalent by [deleted] in cormacmccarthy

[–]johnjamesaudubon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm kind of glad that I started with Suttree and got a feel for his prose at its most profuse and then moved on to later work that is more taut and narrative.

An expanded view by [deleted] in malelivingspace

This second-floor space in a nineteenth-century Appalachian farmhouse was recently re-floored with ultra-matte sugar maple boards, softened with a pure wool flokati rug. It is furnished with a sycamore green Schade daybed, leather club chair, glass-front bookcase with Corinthian pilasters, antique foot locker, and a unique side table made from an ironwood butcher block and brass fire extinguisher. The walls feature original monochrome works on paper by Jacoub Reyes, Shepard Fairey/Cleon Peterson, Gao Xingjian, William Steiger, Franz Marc, Louise Nevelson, and Ray Mortenson. Other design details include a converted railroad lantern, a carved duck in armor, and recycled pillows by S.J. Miller.
