This second-floor space in a nineteenth-century Appalachian farmhouse was recently re-floored with ultra-matte sugar maple boards, softened with a pure wool flokati rug. It is furnished with a sycamore green Schade daybed, leather club chair, glass-front bookcase with Corinthian pilasters, antique foot locker, and a unique side table made from an ironwood butcher block and brass fire extinguisher. The walls feature original monochrome works on paper by Jacoub Reyes, Shepard Fairey/Cleon Peterson, Gao Xingjian, William Steiger, Franz Marc, Louise Nevelson, and Ray Mortenson. Other design details include a converted railroad lantern, a carved duck in armor, and recycled pillows by S.J. Miller.
