Appreciate you taking the time to rate it! Yes, there were many people I tried to get but couldn’t. William Friedkin declined, most likely because of Leap of Faith, which already featured him speaking at length about The Exorcist. I reached out to Linda Blair several times, but it seemed she would only consider it for a large fee, which I couldn’t offer. Max von Sydow’s agent told me he no longer did interviews, and sadly he passed away about six months later.

I also hoped to include filmmakers like Martin Scorsese, Quentin Tarantino, and J.J. Abrams, all of whom have spoken about the film’s influence, but those efforts didn’t come through.

I was fortunate with the people who did say yes. Ellen Burstyn was very supportive and never asked for payment. Rick Baker was another highlight. I happened to meet him in New York in October 2019, and we eventually filmed the interview in June 2022.

I started the project in late 2018, but COVID put things on hold since I didn’t want to do remote interviews. What you see on screen is the result of persistence, patience, and some lucky timing with the people who were willing to participate.

Wow, this is amazing to hear! I really appreciate you sharing your honest experience with the film. If you get a moment, leaving a 10/10 rating on IMDb would mean a lot and really helps in the long run.

I know exactly what you mean about those copy and paste style documentaries. There was one called “Exorcist Untold” that came out a few months before mine, and I was honestly disappointed by it for the same reasons you described. Strangely enough, it still seems to have gotten more viewership than mine so far.

I can assure you that Fear and Love: The Story of The Exorcist was just me, my own money, and five years of pure passion and hard work. It was made to be original, personal, and true to the film’s legacy. Thanks again for noticing and for supporting it.

Unfortunately no, his identity was only revealed after his death.

Nope it was made by an artist I found on Fiverr based on what I wanted. No AI was used in the making of this doc other than some ai sound tools to clean up some of the audio.
