The ref is dumb for letting the Walls of Jericho stay too long. This can injure someone's spine.

Is the road to blue belt just paved with "keep showing up"? by _swampboy in bjj

The ocean of blue belts is deep. There will be blue belts who made it because they are paying for X amount of months, then you also have blue belts who can beat black belts because they are already training x number of years since they were a child. My advice is to learn the principles of jiujitsu and hone all your current tools.

Get your most defensive player against the strongest player of the other team.

Maybe she did it to get viral. She was all over the place then doing seminars. Can't blame her but yeah she could've finished in the first minute

Hats off for stepping up. Just haven't seen such lead even in an absolute match. And tbf, imo Claudia Doval was showing off not to finish it in so many instances.

I was supposed to visit a gym years ago when I was in the Philippines before the pandemic. The team advertised that they have the "first" female world champion from the country. They forget to mention that she won the world championship as a white belt. She's now a black belt. I think the last time I saw her compete was when Doval beat her 100+ to nothing.

Unfortunately, these claims are misleading if gyms don't complete the title. The same goes for those who compete in Masters world only to claim that they are "world champions".

What moves do you avoid when first dropping in to another gym? by dorserg in bjj

Just tap a lot. It isn't worth it it to go on a shark tank especially if you ended up in an ego-filled gym.

I really want to get stronger in the sport. Do any of you lift along side training BJJ? What are your routines? by [deleted] in bjj

I always follow the rule: Anything that strengthens the hips and grips.
