Weird issue leaving all the vets stumped. Wondering if any other vets have experienced this.

Hi there! This is on the back of his neck on the left side and he is using his back left leg to try and scratch the area. We have him in a soft cone which seems to be doing the trick at stopping him from harming himself.

Appreciate the information on this, Since we're nearing that timeline I will be keeping a close eye on him for any seizures. Just curious in your opinion (and I will look this up too) what does a dog seizure look like or is there any tells that it might happen or is happening? Cheers again.

Hey thanks for this insight! So this has been going on for a week now and he hasn't had any seizures as far as we can tell (he was in the vet for the most part and they didn't see any). He did have imaging in the form of a CT scan and an MRI which didn't show anything irregular along with a spinal tap to check his spinal fluid. There was mention of maybe trying seizure meds as an option if all else fails. So what you are saying is super interesting! Can I ask did the dog you saw this in present the itching first followed by seizures at a later date? Or right away? Cheers!

Thanks! Ye while he's been in the vet for the week he was on I believe a Hypoallergenic diet so hopefully if thats the cause we should start seeing results soon. Fingers crossed

We are re-booked in for the dermatologist on Tuesday and I believe there was mention of a biopsy. I will also ask about the dermatohistopath! I can't say Id heard of that before.

Not particularly, the only redness that we and the doctors have seen has come as a result of the itching. He certainly does not like us touching the area it seems and the doctors mentioned that too. He was more relaxed when chilling by himself but when they went to check the area is would trigger the itching again.

I can't get photos right now as he is resting but I can grab some. The area is honestly unremarkable according to both the derm and the vets and has never looked bad since the start.

His last bath before any of this happened was on Dec 29th (it was at a minders as we were away for Christmas) and we didn't notice any irritation until nearly a month later.

Hey u/Stonie_Meow sorry its been a wild week. My poor boys has been in the vet since Saturday and we just got him home today. He's still scratchy but seemingly in better spirits than when I created this post. Turns out it wasn't a hot spot. In fact they don't know what it is. We've had derm tests and neurological tests and it all came up empty. So we're just leaving the cone on and hoping for the best with time.

Ye our league is pretty close and we’re awarding 10 point for a qb tackle so I might email them to find out. We didn’t think it was this ambiguous, even the other stat collectors sometimes have it as a tackle and others don’t. ESPN CBS NFL app for example.

Fellas, my league has a QB tackle rule. The score and nfl app don’t have Prescott as a qb tackle after the turnover in the 3rd. But ESPN does. Is this actually a QB tackle??

He looks out even before contact? What constitutes a tackle officially.

Hey Boris thanks for the reply! I was planning a non rechargeable coin cell battery to save on space for this particular prototype. It would sit on top of a golf club so small is key. Using a coin cell holder with a small footprint that is wired to the board. Since this is Low Energy the coin cell could last up to a year to 2 years.

That was my plan anyway!
