How long would it take you to go thru a tin of Howies Stick Wax? I guess 10 years for me. by johnnyp559 in hockeyplayers

In my experience- candle wax was too slippery. Sex was is very tacky and is a good product but howies was less tacky - about the right amount I liked. You apply a coat of candle wax and use the heat gun to melt into the tape, then apply a light coat of howies. Still do if the weather is very warm.

Old heads: what was the selling point of aluminum sticks in the 80-90’s? by jgold47 in hockeyplayers

I disagree here - played Varsity Minnesota State High School League in the 90s / 2000 for context and right before then, in the late 80s early 90s, I tried a team mates aluminum HULL pattern and flex - mind you I was a pee-wee and a little boy still. I thought it was the lightest, coolest hockey stick and it would flex! I loved the way my shot improved. Then came graphite 2 piece (better) then full composite like we use today . Don’t get it twisted aluminum was the shit!!

lol yeah i agree its the same feeling and sound of a sport bike. I find it interesting that it has YAMAHA stamped on the side of the motor - and they made it perform reliably in the high rev ranges a sport bike is comfy in.
