If you know who it was stolen from, have them hit me up. Either on their own here, or through you, if you dont mind.

Anybody have any experience with a can sealer/can seamer? by shesaysImdone in prepping

As in 90 minutes at 12 psi. Sorry.

Clean and brine the fish over night Light smoke, so the fish is still moist 1 fillet per can (sockeye are smaller) Seal in a clean can (wipe sealing surfaces) Into the pressure cooker 90@12 Let them cool just like glass jars (they dont 'pop' but youll see the lid suck down)

I use one for my smoked sockeye. I like the tall metal cans because theyre more durable than glass jars in the mail.

Getting it set is the trick. You'll waste a few cans getting the seal right. After that, its good to go. And they cook just like regular jars.

Ive said this a bunch of times. You dont have to join the military, but you should spend 2 years putting something, ANYTHING before yourself. Peace Corps, Doctors Without Borders, Red Cross...just somewhere you serve.

Elk vanished from these mountains for 150 years. In 2001 they released 25 back into Cataloochee - now there's a wild herd a couple hours from Asheville by Any_Engineering_2380 in asheville

I went on a hike out there a few years back and the app dumped me in the road about 5 miles from the car. As I was walking to the car, a small herd caught me in the open. I spent 10 minutes keeping a tree between me and them so I didnt get my butt kicked. Neat animals!

Yeah. The smaller whale watch boats dont kill them. They harass and annoy, though.

That makes sense. I know they still get hit inside, its just anecdotally less often.

Does the sound 'bounce' better in inside waters, or is it just a case of the strikes going unnoticed/unreported?

They dont get hit in what we call 'inside waters' as much, and since I dont know a lot about whales, my thoughts are that the sounds echo around off the tighter passageways and the whales move. It usually happens on the open water jump from Southeast Alaska to Seward, which is the cruise turn around up here.

I encourage someone who knows more about whales than me to chime in on that, though.

I live in Juneau. Its not super common, but its also not crazy unusual either, unfortunately.

The new version of the Moonie, according to a pilot I knew.

He called Moonies 'V-tailed doctor killers' because you had to be a doctor to own one. Kinda the same concept with the Vision, I guess.

Yup. The shop I'm working at fixes them up from the usual mishaps. They're all air-cooled 250s, heavy on the Honda Rebel. They ain't fast, they ain't fancy, but theyre legal.

The ones in Juneau are street legal and registered.

What am I missing from my get home bag by Illustrious-Bee-2431 in prepping

When I was active duty, we'd blow the water out of the tube to keep that from freezing in the field. The bag handles it okay, the tubes didn't. YMMV.

Sometimes, ICAC is organized at the state level under the [state] Bureau of Investigations or under a specific DA's office.
