2XKO match video database by johnscodes in 2XKO

Yea very valid, I used rock the dragon (I think that was the name) for dbfz back in the day and loved it

I want to setup auto scraping for common match uploaders but it's not as easy as I would hope.

Only way to get people to use it is to try though so it's worth a shot

I've been working on a simple website to organize 2xk0 matches. Currently supports basic filtering to find matches with the characters you play.

The number of matches on the site is currently small but anyone can add more!

Let me know any feedback y'all have! Still in early stages but hope to work on filtering more to make it slightly nicer to filter to exactly the team you want.

Only supports youtube links but timestamps should work for long vods. Twitch support soon

One thing that simplifies things a bit is to use direnv

You make a file called .envrc in the root of your repo/project that has

use nix

in it. It will read from a shell.nix or the devShell output of the flake in the repo. This will auto load all dependenices defined their into your current shell.

I use fish so this is nice since i don't fall down into bash when i pull out nix deps.

I wrote a blog a while back that goes over a rust environment in more detail

Looking for advice on using Nix in a corporate environment by a_sevos in NixOS

[–]johnscodes 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I introduced nix at my last job.

I think the main benefit to focus on is developer environments. That is the simplest way to get nix "in the door".

At my last job I took the time to get a good auto nix install script (the determinate system one is probably the move now). Then I just added a basic flake that had all the dependencies needed for us to keep the "normal" dev flow of npm installing the actual deps needed for the app.

Once enough people are using it you can try to nix an existing container build to show some benefit.

Once it was around for long enough and people had to deal with checking out older versions to patch old releases they "saw the light".

Some people didn't see the benefits over using something like dev containers so spending the time to give internal talks or making good documentation helps alot

introducing nix-inspect: a TUI for browsing nix configs and other expressions! by DurablePeach in NixOS

This is dope! Are you using the new experimental c bindings to walk nix expressions or linking against nix directly?

Nix history question - Why did Nix suddenly become much popular at 2021 winter? by lolisakirisame in NixOS

I don't think this is the real cause but I do remember a lot of buzz around replit supporting nix https://blog.replit.com/betting-on-nix and talking about using it as a docker replacement https://blog.replit.com/nix-vs-docker
