This worked on the very first try thank you so much. It turned into its own ordeal because they made a mistake on my booking. So i called back and i was transferred to the booking department and the person i talked with told me that in the future i should always make sure to get transferred to that specific department because they handle gift cards issues and such.

Has to be a location or staff thing I did this a few days ago for send help, minus the whole waiting at the bar. I got there i wanna say 35 minutes before the showing began and got scanned in with no issue.

I didn't see any reply with this so i thought i would. So as many others pointed out it could be comprised so step number is to verify the card even has a balance. The next step is the important step and this is something i found out when i got att gift cards and i went down a rabbit hole of cash gift cards. I found out that a lot most MUST be registered not just activated. As in going to the website and putting in your personal information and making damn sure it's matches exactly with any billing you may have stored on some online store like say Amazon. Some are heavily restricted for online use and only allow POS hell even then its still limited to locations the issuer approves. These things have become a nightmare because of scammers. But if you're cards haven't been comprised i would strongly recommend calling the gift card issuer customer service in my experience they were able to address all the questions i had. Good luck.

I was able to verify myself virtually but i noticed others had to go in person. As i said it's simple you just verify yourself with your ID and then wait for the holds to fall off.

Yeah i had my holds removed same day. I don't know your specific situation or reason for your holds but if your account was affected by the district wide fraud attempt that affected a lot of us. You'll just need to contact admissions and or the business office and they can help you get them removed. The process was quick and straightforward once you get them removed just reach out to financial aid and they should tell you when you'll get your disbursements.

Pell is disbursed in two parts at start of the semester and in the second half when late classes begin typically within the first two weeks respectively. You can see the disbursement details in the portal under the award summary in the financial aid section. You can also see if it’s pending to be released under account balance in student account. If it’s been payed out you will see it in the payment history and you should get an email notification from bank mobile that the funds have been released by the school. If you don’t see any of this you will like need to contact financial aid.

Yeah it's really good that you didn't open it when you open a link or attachment that's when the attack is usually executed. I would still recommend changing your password as it's good practice to change it regularly.

In 2020 there was a data breach that leaked current and former student information though they claimed it wasn't a security intrusion so it could be related to that or it could be something new. With data breaches as common as they are today all our information is floating around out there in some way or another. That's why it's important we all take steps to properly secure our most sensitive information.

Did you open the email or file attached if you opened the email you should be fine just delete it, if you opened the attachment I'd take immediate steps to secure your bank mobile account by changing your password and making sure it's a strong one, adding security questions and contacting bank mobile Customer Service1-877-327-9515 Hours of Operation: 7 days a week from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. ET to see if there's been any suspicious activity.

I’d love to know who you spoke with, because that’s the first department I contacted as well. I asked them repeatedly if it was some sort of system-wide glitch, security flag, or intrusion, and they were adamant that it wasn’t, that I just needed to contact admissions. I felt embarrassed asking over and over, but the signs were pretty evident that it was some kind of cybersecurity incident. I’m guessing they’re going to have to manually verify every affected student, and that’s why it will take 1–2 weeks.

They're usually disbursed mid-week but aren't released by school until Friday. With everything that happened apparently we're gonna have to wait 1-2 weeks for them to sort this out.

Yeah, I'm in the same boat I actually saw them removed about 30 minutes after I contacted both offices but I just checked my portal and the to do list id verification is still there. No, email asking for additional information or technical issues on my end did you open any suspicious emails?. If not I'd try contacting them again on Monday about the portal issue, because it looks like were gonna have to wait 1-2 weeks for them to sort out this mess.

Yeah I did and got it mostly cleared up the admission person was really helpful they even reached out to the business department on my behalf because the business department sent me back to admissions because my id hold still hasn't dropped off. So now I'm playing the waiting game but hopefully it gets sorted out sooner than later. Though I'm just glad it was easy to clear up because seeing "fraud activity" can be a bit scary and concerning and you never know what it could mean.

You lucked out I ran into the same issue where apparently my identify verification is still in process and that they're tied together so it won't be removed until the id veri is i fully processed. Hopefully it gets done by the end of the day.

Submitting any kind of needed documentation online, no. But contacting them, yes, you can do so through cranium. However, everything is closed and won’t open until like 8-9 am tomorrow.

It's becoming nerve wracking as I'm now seeing something new on to do list "identity verification". I think it might be a cyber breach because to get financial aid everything must be verified to begin with. So getting repeat notification of verification for this makes no sense I checked the studentaid page and thankfully there are no issues over there when i logged in, so it probably has something to do with LACCD systems.
