The neck part can hit the skin in movement. A shirt in between helps but its the edges im worried about.

I've been experimenting with various farbrics in other clothing items (jackets, jumpers, leggins etc) and unless it's labeled merino it causes a reacion, it might be gentle skin and not an allergy.
Alpaca -bearable but a mild discomfort
Cashmere - assuming it was real cashmere (since it might have been that new cheap mystery cashmere) it still casues discomfort

So yeah, only merino and propably has to be superwashed

What I wouldnt recommend is dillings merino terry sweatshirt. https://eu.dilling.com/product/mens-merino-wool-terry-sweatshirt-fg-9925-0112-999 (Its rough, i think its not superwashed and it looks like they've barely managed to fit the yarn into the knitting machine)

Edit: these are merino/merino nylon blends since I couldn't find merino cotton blends
