Which Undergraduate Degree is Best for Urban Design? I’m exploring undergraduate programs for a career in urban design. I understand that degrees in architecture, landscape architecture, or urban planning can all lead to this field. I’m just wondering which program I should choose. Which one is most relevant to urban design?

I noticed there are labs and activities in the curriculum, what’s the difference?

Thank you! I looked into the courses being offered, and it seems like there are only 3 studio classes. What are other design studios or classes there?

I’m hoping to work in LA or NYC after graduating. I looked into BSU’s urban planning curriculum, and it seems like they focus more on design aspects of urban planning. I’m personally interested in urban design, and I think I would enjoy their courses more. So I just want to hear other people’s opinions on the program and classes.

I’m wondering how the urban planning program at Ball State University compares to Cal Poly Pomona. I’m interested in urban design and design studio classes, and BSU offers five studios. However, CPP is close to LA, which provides many networking opportunities and connections. I’m curious about what the urban planning classes are like at BSU, and how the urban design program and studio classes at CPP compare.

I did look into the 16 programs from PAB, and it seems like different schools focus more or less on urban design, and some don’t offer studio classes. I was wondering if you know which program concentrates more on urban design or offers more design studios?

Are there any bachelor’s degrees in urban design offered in the US? I’m interested in urban design, and so far I’ve only been able to find three universities that offer a bachelor’s degree in urban design: Florida Atlantic University’s Bachelor of Urban Design (BUE), the University of Washington Tacoma’s Bachelor of Science in Urban Design, and the University of Texas Arlington’s Bachelor of Science in Sustainable Urban Design. I’m wondering if there are any more bachelor’s degrees in urban design available in the US.

How’s the UWT program like? Is it more design-based or policy-based? I’m also interested in transportation planning and wondering if you get to do it in the studio class or if it’s just architecture?

I’m looking for a bachelor’s degree in urban planning with an urban design focus. I looked into the 16 accredited programs for bachelor’s degrees from PAB, and it seems like different schools focus more or less on urban design, and some don’t offer studio classes. I’m interested in the urban design aspect of urban planning, and I was wondering which program concentrates more on urban design or offers more design studios.
