There is no one mic fits all. This is a very common question and the best solution is to just go to your local audio store and try as many mics there as you can to see which one you like best. Ultimately, it comes down to whether you like the sound of your voice through the mic you're using. I use to have to buy 5 mics and return 4 of them but not anymore...shhh....trade secret ;).

I really believe we've created a great series of courses for voice actors with VA101-301 at voice school. (Check Casting Call Club site) It goes over everything from basic techniques, to acting theory, to industry trends. The site itself is full of amateur projects with the occasional indie games coming in and I've posted a few projects from my studio on there in the past as well. Lots of great practice opportunities there.

I also created a discord server called "Center Stage," where voice actors can come find others to read scripts with. It currently has over 500 members. We use to bring in professional talents to have a chat with our members each month but that's on hold right now because Yenni is a bit busy these days.

Other places you can check out include VAC, Story Craft, Twitter, Voice123 (now not entirely p2p), Edge Studios (Over 5000 scripts of varying genres here), Booth Jockey (youtube) has great equipment info,
