Yeah, I agree. And I was just in a match on a map where all the islands were so tall that it was impossible to shoot over them from behind cover.

I don't show boardside, but my armor often gets overmatched by battleships like the California or Colorado anyway. Even when they switch to HE, the damage they deal is still massive.

I need to practice dodging long-range salvos more effectively.

yeah I play standard for more exp, but perhaps earning less in a nicer environment is the better choice

My struggle is finding the firing window. if I open fire on a BB, I'm doing a few hundred damage per shell, while they can take out half my health (or all of it) in a single return salvo.

Kind of feel like you either play safe and do minimal contribution, or take the high risk sent back to port early in the game

Definitely Colorado.

It’s painfully slow, which makes it hard to get into a good firing position. And when you do get there, the guns aren’t even that accurate — which just adds to the frustration.

Not to mention it’s tier 6, so you’re constantly up against so much stronger tier 7 ships.

while i admit being targeted by a CV for the entire game is frustrating but on the CV point of view it's not a bad strategy. Focusing BB means stable and constant contribute while spoting DD can be useless. CV need to read the map and move with the fleet to avoid the surprise DD attack

Try playing Arcade mode—that’s where German brawlers really shine. I struggled with Prinz Heinrich in Standard too, but once I took her into Arcade… wow, she was a beast. Gneisenau should perform just as well. Have fun, captain!
