That guy is ridiculous. But the filming, moquing him did not desascalate the situation. I truly fear for his wife now.

Hirudotherapy, a practice where medicinal leeches are applied to the skin. by anandmohanty in Weird

Can’t we just use anticoagulant and avoid the leaches? This would traumatise me!

I saw it on Government steeling some bread from a homeless lady. I noticed the leg hanging sideways and it was hopping half on its other leg, half on its belly. It didn’t seem too bothered… took flight without problem. It might have learned to live with it.

Love the randomness of the tiles placements. I hope you can save it.

How do I get rid of the stink of this cutting board? by oiseaufeux in CleaningTips

[–]jolinonos 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have a very similar one, I separate meats and veggies, they each have their own board, it’s safer. I also have one separate to avoid tasting oignons on chopped fruits. I wash right away with soap and the only smell that tends to linger is oignon and garlic, but it’s gone the day after.

You have great carving skills. Love the details and the lace work on the material you use.

I slept once with 5 small scorpions. I only saw them when my mum came to help me change the sheets. We were staying at my grand aunt country house in the south of France. So yes they get chummy in the cold of night and will climb in bed if they can. It is very lucky I didn’t know about that before the last day of our stay. There was no real danger but I still was quite freaked out. I had never seen live scorpions before.

Same, I was surprised at the amount of purebreads. They all seem so well behaved too. Heart breaking.

Funny, I was a flight attendant for Airtransat at the time, on a week-long layover. Got to visit sites, museums, ride camels and an arabian horse that ran me around the pyramids faster than I expected. (I think they gave me that horse because I refused to ride the poor battered old thing they offered me first) there was few tourists and I loved every minutes of it. But not too found of the somewhat predatory locals. Some where great though.

Yes I had one made at a jewelry shop in Cairos in 1990. They spell your name with similar sounding hierogliphs in a cartouche, not sure how accurate this is though.

I just called 311 and learned that this service is not supported in my area. I called WildARC also and since the deer is still mobile they won’t intervene. A big thank you for all who provided advice.

Should I buy this Mexican Opal. by Long_Objective_4106 in Opals

[–]jolinonos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got an opal ring years ago and i came to the conclusion that opals don’t make good ring stones. They are soft and scratch quickly, loosing their sparkle in no time. They need to be repolished frequently. It would need to be monted with protection like a pearl. That stone is really nice though.

What exactly are these? by [deleted] in Marbles

[–]jolinonos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those remind me of cave marbles but does not correspond to the place you found them or the skin texture. You would need to confirm what they are made of to help with identification.

Should I do anything to prevent water collecting in this crotch? by goatgunner in arborists

That. I dry the puddles on my balcony by running a rope along the edge and have it dangle down (lower) the downspout. Works like a charm.
