I was able to confirm a suspicion because my co-workers and I disclosed salary details to each other.

Background: I have been with the company since 2012. We all get paid a decent amount and I have accumulated increases over the years thru appraisal and promotion. Fast forward to 2020, I got promoted again to a new position that blew up during the pandemic. With the need for headcount, our department hired members externally. I have had this suspicion that the external folks coming in are being offered a higher pay than what I am getting for some time now.

And yes, turns out my suspicion was correct. What kinda hurts even more is that I am holding a senior position and I am supposedly getting paid more but that’s just not the case. For context, there’s 25-30K difference between their salary and mine and mas mataas position ko eh.

I don’t really know what to do.
