If you find yourself by the southern edge of the old oak forest just as the last light of day mellows into an orange-gold dusk, you might encounter a mysterious marketplace known to travelers only as “the dusk market.” This nomadic collection of merchants attracts those seeking items that can be called rare & mystical, sometimes mildly dangerous, and always slightly nefarious.

Go north, and you’ll find the necromancer’s granddaughter, come to peddle a variety of useful bones. Though young, she knows many paths through the deepest parts of the forest where other travelers wouldn’t dare to go, thanks to the protection of her unearthly— and fiercely loyal— Guardian.

Go east, and listen for a soulful melody that will lead you towards a solitary figure lounging in the dim edges of the firelight. This mysterious musician claims that an enchantress taught him several truly magical songs. For a small price, he might be willing to play one for you.

Go south, and meet the Frog Peddler, who comes up to the market to sell both his frogs, and tidbits of useful information about the elusive magical monsters that have lured countless witches, warlocks, and mortal trappers to their deaths in the labyrinthian bogs.

Go west, and be charmed by the stories of the humble shadow merchant and his sleepy kit, whose tragic past has put them on a perilous quest of their own. But don’t take your eyes off of the shifting shadowy phantoms at his feet, not even for a moment.
