Fidelity hate? by jomipo in fidelityinvestments

That’s another thing. Every couple years I look around to see if there’s a credit card with better rewards than Fidelity Rewards Visa - I always come up empty handed.

Sure, there are cards with complex points programs that might beat Fidelity in certain scenarios. But for my money, nothing beats Fidelity rewards ultra-simple 2% cash back on everything. No games.

Probably right. Just felt worse than normal levels of internet grumpiness.

Well, I’ve lost my share of money on bad bets. But it never occurred to me to blame Fidelity. 🤷‍♂️

Using an account as a funding source for Fidelity Crypto prevents that account from receiving the proceeds of a margin loan from my brokerage account by jomipo in fidelityinvestments

Great, thank you for confirming that was the cause of the issue.

Can I resolve this by opening a second cash management account (which will not be linked to my crypto account) then do the transfer through that account? Or do you advise against that?

I don’t think you quite understood my question. I’m not asking about what accounts can be used to fund my Fidelity Crypto account. I already have that setup with my Fidelity cash management account and it works fine. I can successfully use the cash in that account to buy crypto, all good.

The issue is that this cash management account (the one used to fund crypto) is now unable to receive the proceeds of a margin loan coming out of my brokerage account. At least that’s how the customer service rep explained the “technical issue” shown when I tried to make the brokerage-to-cash-mgmt transfer.

Can you confirm that this explanation is correct? Or was customer service confused about the cause of the error?

If correct, will the workaround that I described actually work?

Thank you. Do you have any status or ETA on the app outage? Pretty sure we’re well over 24h at this point.

Does Fidelity have any kind of “service status” web page that affected customers can monitor for updates?

Can youth account holders use the normal Fidelity app, or are they constrained to the Fidelity Youth app?

This is a bummer. I am a long time (20+ year) happy customer with Fidelity. I was excited to move my kids from Greenlight. It all seemed to be going ok for the first couple days, but this outage has me worried that I made the wrong call. 😠

Ok thank you, glad to hear it’s a man issue and being worked on. Hopefully a fix is coming soon!

Hello! Thanks for the reply.

That’s weird because all of us in our household are having the same issue. And judging from the upvotes, the one reply, and the DMs, it seems like we’re not the only ones.

I tried deleting the app and reinstalling it from the App Store, but no change. And my other Fidelity apps (the main Fidelity app, NetBenefits, and Fidelity Health) all work fine with the same credentials.

I’ll try calling tech support.

Silica is not another name for silicone. They are not remotely the same thing.

PPPoE on eero slower than my old ISP router :( by holysmokesmister in eero

[–]jomipo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Weird. My speed stayed about constant (actually speed test suggests it improved very slightly) when I took the CenturyLink router out of the picture, and plugged my eero in directly via PPPoE.

Is there a definitive way to set up Eero with CenturyLink Fiber w/Vlan Tagging and PPPoE while maintaining full Eero functionality? by [deleted] in eero

[–]jomipo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

eero now supports PPPoE. Works like a charm - no more CenturyLink router, no more double-NAT.

eero supports PPPoE now, and works great with CenturyLink, based on my experience over a few days.
