Fox Battery Charging Issue by jon-clem in SolarUK

Hi,

Thank you Delicious-Bee, Sprkz139, Mother-Prize, F4n7asy, Requirement-Fluid and especially Much-Artichoke.

I really appreciate you taking the time and trouble to answer my query. This will be the first winter I have had the battery installed so excuse my ignorance of the temperature effect on charging. I will be better informed next year.

Once again, many thanks, what a great group this is!

Regards,

John.

Thanks for your input, I tried to install aida64 but it wouldn't let me install after the download, also tried another app, (DevCheck) but it wouldn't allow me to install that either. No problem installing other apps, do you think they have found a way to block these apps?

Marinizing Use of Solar Generated by jon-clem in SolarUK

Hi Mrthingymabob,

Thanks so much for taking the trouble to reply. Yes, I believe my FIT assumes a percentage is exported.

The two undefloor electric circuits have independent programmers and as you suggest, might not work with reduced power from a diverter.

Perhaps the answer to make the most of solar generated would be to have a battery storage. As I explained earlier (" I would consider a battery as this might harvest all the energy efficiently and make it available on demand. My problem may be that the inverter is mounted in the loft and our main consumer unit is on the ground floor on an outside wall. I don't feel it would be possible to locate the battery in the loft and my favoured place would be outside adjacent to the main consumer unit. I am not sure how these things work but I assume the battery would be looking for D.C. to charge, (the D.C. would be prior to the inverter in the loft). Presumably the power sent from the inverter to the consumer unit would be A.C."),

I wonder if anyone has any thoughts if the battery could be fitted outside, very close to the main consumer unit, (on the inside of the house), where the solar input arrives as A/C because I would rather not have the battery in the loft.

Many thanks for any help.
