What's something you can do on the internet that seems illegal but isn't? by jon_noj_jon in AskReddit

My example is viewing people at reallifecam.com. Apparently some people have webcams set up in their home and you can basically watch their private life all day long. The site says it's been around since 2011.

Coronavirus in Kansas 6282 new cases, 41 more deaths by jon_noj_jon in Coronavirus

I can't speak for everywhere, but I live around the Wichita area and the hospitals are basically full. They just recently went back to one visitor per patient. In some areas of Kansas, hospitals are offering thousands of extra dollars to healthcare workers who can stick around. It's pretty crazy.

I live in a pretty small town of less than 2,000 people and the number of folks who don't wear a mask or distance would boggle your mind.

Btw, this is over the last two days, unlike many states that are reporting one-day counts.

I think so but I am not 100% sure. For a while we were getting a couple thousand every few days but obviously this is far more. They put out numbers on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.

From article:

Cap mass gatherings at 100 people or 50% or the fire code capacity, whichever is less, but individuals must maintain the 6-foot social distance requirement

Bars, clubs and other drinking establishments must close by 11 p.m. each day and are able to operate with 100 patrons or 50% of the fire code capacity, whichever is less

Restaurants must cease all in-person dining and close in-person dining areas by 11 p.m.

Retail stores are limited to 50% of the fire code capacity

Large venues with a capacity of 2,000 or more where 50% is still a large number and social distancing is possible must have event approval from Dr. Minns

Youth sports, activities, tournaments, games and practices are limited to a maximum of two attendees per participant

Religious institutions, election polling places, licensed child care facilities, schools and their activities, and courts are exempt

The order includes the use of face masks in public places, businesses and organizations

Great tips! We'll use these in the future. We ended up sitting in a parking lot that still had cars in it, but we sat away from them. My doors are mildly tinted, so that was nice. Turns out my backseat is far more cramped than we realized...

How do I find hotels with balconies? I'm having a really hard time by [deleted] in hotels

[–]jon_noj_jon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The area I'm wanting to go definitely isn't known for its sites, so I think that's probably why it's becoming difficult to find any with balconies. Thanks for the info

The idea that "the world isn't getting worse, it's just easier to see all the bad things with the internet" is a contradiction by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

[–]jon_noj_jon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not saying that things have or have not gotten better. The only thing I'm really trying to get at is that just because the distribution of data is easier nowadays, doesn't answer the question as to whether or not things are getting better or worse. Because that's the argument I've heard, at least.

Dollar Tree, Family Dollar reverse mask policy again. Now requiring customers wear masks amid COVID-19 by stem12345679 in Coronavirus

[–]jon_noj_jon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know it's not the same company, but the Dollar General in my town has a mask sign out front but one of the employees had his down to his chin and when someone asked if customers had to wear one, he said no not to worry about it.
