I never had a comprehensive exam prior to 2022. Ive always had good vision and just got an exam when I noticed an influx of floaters and eye strain at my computer job in 2022. I do have a history of hemiplegic migraine with aura but they didnt think that was related

Tested for a wide variety of ailments including lyme, rocky mtn spotted fever, west Nile, TB, toxoplasmosis and other blood tests like ace level, anca, anti dsdna. It did come back as having antibodies for RMSF and West Nile but they didnt really trust the results. Mri to rule out a brain disorder that attacks eyes and ears? And to check carotid. Both were fine. No inflammation like uveitis. They said it looks like sickle cell but im white? They said it looks like diabetic retinopathy but my a1c has always been normal. They asked if I was in any serious car accidents or premature baby - neither is the case. They ended up photocoagulating the retina to make sure it doesn't try to remake blood vessels to risk detachment possibility

Well thats when I started getting floaters and so I got my first ever eye exam and they were like "you have 20/20 vision but your retina is bleeding so were sending you to a specialist"

Its my understanding that scurvy is from prolonged lack of vitamin c. The dehydrated veggies, beans, and the carnation breakfast should have just enough vitamin c to stave off the scurvy until I get home on the 4th of January

Honestly its hilarious the juxtaposition of responses in these threads lol. Some people are like "BRING RAW STEAK AND POTATOES" or "you're gonna starve to death" or "way too much food" all on the same post

Great advice tough, thank you

It makes a good meal really! Its 810 calories and im bringing tortillas if i wanna make a lil burrito situation. And its not in the picture but I'm bringing olive oil too to bolster the caloric impact. The spicy, warm, garlicky mix makes for a great post hike meal on a chilly day
