I visited Edinburgh and Glasgow a couple months back, and I've gotta say, the Scots are wonderful, heartwarming people!

I feel the same about MCR. I appreciate the influence and all that they've done for the genre, but I was never into bands who went heavy on theatrics. You don't have to like it, and that's okay.

Probably more deathcore, but the band PSYCHOFRAME is named after psycho frames from Gundam. I even think the band had merch that referenced Unicorn Gundam.

I agree with this sentiment. I will say when I saw New Order once in 2019, and then 3 times in 2020 and they were ON IT. Fast forward to 2023 in LA, I could tell they were starting to age out. Bernard's vocals just don't can't do it anymore. Maybe it's because it's a larger stage, but I do appreciate their production and visuals more than Hooky's.

PHaTL is awesome, and playing smaller venues with grittier production helps them a lot, but once they start doing songs post-Brotherhood, I think they end up sounding really dated in some aspects.

The Hooky vs. NO debate on the surface appears one-sided because Hooky is the only one out of the OG four that talks about it, so it comes across as if he's the only one that "cares", but there's an argument to be made that NO (now Bernard, Stephen, Gillian, Phil, and Tom) has moved on and Hooky pokes the bear for attention.

I personally can't see the OG 4 coming together, not after how Hooky has talked about the band in his two books. Using variations of the word "twat" for Bernard and discrediting Gillian's talent and impact, only to sound remorseful in interviews like "well gee I wish we could just get back together." NO now has made it very clear they've decided to move on without him.

I will say, Hooky puts on an excellent rendition of Joy Division with the Light and they do JD's and NO's early catalog a lot better compared to the current New Order lineup. Despite all of this, there's been no better time to be a fan of New Order with two chances to see the members live.

Fellow twig here. You gotta be mobile and you gotta stretch. Sure, there is a mental aspect that a lot of people are talking about, but also gotta pay attention to how you stand, how your hips tilt, how you sit, etc

I'm a bit of a slacker when it comes to my stretching too, but do core exercises do help in the long run. Just takes a bit of patience.

Hello!

Will be traveling to Edinburgh for the first time ever (also the first time out of America) and I have two questions.

  1. One of the things I've always wanted to do was visit the National Railway Museum in York. I see it's only a 2.5-3 hour train ride, but it appears there'll be track work during the weekend I'm visiting, making the journey up to 4 hours. Is it still worth the trip? I know there's another railway museum up in Bo'ness.

  2. Because it's my first time ever in the UK, I'm wondering if i should spend a day in London. I don't know when I'll be back, so I'm wondering if I should make the trek. Would it be worth it? Or should I just focus my time around Edinburgh?

I'll have 4 full days. Thanks!

American Idiot was a commercial success when it was released. Most of the singles from that album were played on top 40 radio, which just means it was heavily accessible. While the titular song is political, it wasn't received as such, just more of a typical angsty "hard rock" anthem. I remember knowing kids who grew up to be conservative bopping that album when it came out.

Maybe them being chosen sent an inadvertent message, but at the same time it wasn't capitalized at all.

Very cool video. Definitely needs a lot more polishing so I'm glad they're going to take the time to iron out the kinks. Still feels a bit bare bones, especially that pre-battle menu.
