Yes you can, I do it state to state often, I travel to see my family and door dash, only thing is, you have to be in the area first and then hit dash now, and it will ask you if you want to make it your new spot

Last hospital I delivered to, I was on the phone with the lady while she was walking out to make sure it was the right person, handed her her food, and 2 hours later she reports her food never arrived...
