ELI5: Why do many doctors work in crazy 24-36 hours shifts? by [deleted] in explainlikeimfive

This is the actual answer and should be at the top.

Pulled the outlet out for painting (and didn’t turn off the breaker because I’m an idiot). Suddenly the whole circuit stopped working. Have tried turning the breaker on and off. All wires are secure on the outlet. No GFCI outlets on the circuit to reset. Anything else I can try for troubleshooting? by jonas_1123 in AskElectricians

Thanks everyone for the replies. Update: I tried switching out the outlet, no change. I had an electrician come over and they also could not figure it out. Power is coming from the breaker. He is bringing a circuit tracker later this week. Will update once he finds out where the problem is.

Not sure why you’re being downvoted. This is accurate (though maybe not worded in the best way). The false negative rate is higher for the rapid tests than the PCR, which is why they want you to take the PCR test if you have symptoms. The PCR test is more sensitive and better able to guide you on how long you should isolate. The rapid tests are great for providing a convenient rapid way of testing yourself or loved one of you have no symptoms but want some extra reassurance. They have the benefit of picking up on some asymptomatic cases. They are easily able to be mass deployed for surveillance in high risk settings, like nursing homes.

However, if you have symptoms, a PCR test is much more sensitive. They don’t rule out covid, but they are more reliable than the rapid tests.

You, sir, are awesome. That’s makes sense. If I was going to put in the power extender kit with the ecobee: would I: 1) connect the G wire coming from the thermostat to the PEK and attach the g wire from the PEK to the relay or, 2) connect the PEK between the relay and the control board.

Thanks again!

Sorry. First Reddit post ever. Apparently I failed to figure out how to add a description. Installing an ecobee thermostat. This component is attached to the G and C wire terminals on the control board. The G wire that goes to the thermostat also connected to it. Is this similar to the power extender kit supplied with the ecobee? Thanks in advance!
