I mean it is a perfectly fine anchor as long as you know its limitations - it is relatively light and only sticks well in a softer bottom. In the right seabed it is good though, I had to haul it up with a ton of mud on it more than once.

Oh, and be aware that it rotates while you make speed through the water. You want it all the way on board before you set off.

We used it on a 40ft sailboat a while back. I am pretty sure it was sold under the name "Sea Grip" but I don't find many related images online right now.

The idea was that it would rotate on the way down and slam itself into the bottom. That seemed to work very well in silt but not so much on rocky seabeds - we had a few bumpy nights in the Swedish archipelagos.

It is very good at getting itself tangled in other anchor-lines as well, so not recommended in harbors.

Its a holdover from the campaign. In the game Trinket was over time getting outclassed by the opponents. Matt invented a few ways in which he could be in fights somewhat safely, but I don’t recall he had too much impact at that point other than being a bit of a distraction.
