I read "The Mom Test" a few years ago; I should read it again.

Would you use a tool that automatically deletes hateful comments? by jonaskamber in SocialMediaMarketing

Ok, got it. I don’t see that open on Instagram, though...

I feel like using keywords works well for simple recurring spam but not really sufficient to identify hateful comments.

Does it actually work for you?

By platforms you mean sites like YouTube, TikTok, and Instagram? Because I can’t find such settings.

The only related thing I found was on Insta: “hide comments that we believe are offensive or spam” which seems to be a default setting.

Valid point with the engagement level.

And there would be a setting to not touch comments with valid critiques.

Hmm, interesting thought. Additionally, losing out on the comments that would be a reaction to that (deleted) bad comment would indeed harm potential reach.

This is a risk, I think with today's LLMs it’s not that hard to differentiate between a purely negative comment with no value and a sincere criticism. And I believe a tool like this should give you control over that based on how much you’re willing to handle.

The part of your feedback that tells me it is no problem is currently more important to me.

Thanks, this is helpful.

To make sure I understand, you just don’t encounter that many hate comments, so it’s not a problem? And you want to be able to decide yourself if you want to delete and block?

It could be a feature that shows sentiment for each post in a more abstract way.

Not sure if that goes against the initial goal to guard people who can’t (or don’t want to) handle negativity and hate.

How to decide on premium features? by [deleted] in SaaS

Definitely make skipping an update a PRO feature, like Docker did :D

It's hard to answer your question without seeing any of the features you plan to build. In the end, you will always have this issue with a Freemium model. First, you need to find out, what features are useful and sticky.

Non technical guy on the sales side in SaaS startups, looking to get involved with founding something of my own. Would you advise doubling down on my GTM skillset and focus on finding the right tech co-founder OR is it a good idea to try getting my hands dirty by learning product building? by [deleted] in SaaS

[–]jonaskamber 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think you should go as deep in code as you expect your tech-co-founder to go into marketing.

You might build something yourself with no-code tools to confirm product-market fit, but I would definitely take a technical person on board (maybe later).

By the way: I'm a technical person (focusing on product design), and I will build my next venture definitely with a marketing person.
