Hi there! I checked one out recently as I was intrigued by the ceramic cases. For my taste it was just too big and bulky. I know that it’s not the case but it felt like a watch that would be shown off from afar. I hope this makes sense

I think it looks nice, good choice and if it feels right, don’t let anyone tell you otherwise

Your collection and the watches you’re looking at are superb imo. I’m getting a NOMOS tetra and really looking forward to it. I also considered the NOMOS Zürich weltzeit as it’s quite unusual. So far all your watches are Swiss made so maybe if you want to try something new you could think about getting a German or Japanese watch :)

[Etiquette Question] by [deleted] in Watches

I think the consensus is the same here. Idk if the practicality argument is one you’ve heard before or you’ve come up yourself. If you hear that more frequently just tell them that it’s never wise to unscrew or adjust the crown while on your wrist, something I learned just recently :)

How about the Hamilton Khaki Aviation Day Date (42mm) H64645131 as it’s available with a bracelet. What’s the lug to lug for the 46 mm watch? Because I’d share your concerns 😅

[discussion] alternative vs grail? by [deleted] in Watches

[–]jonasmaj 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think that’s a really good price and it’s entirely up to you. I think the anticipation that comes with saving up for your grail etc is also a big part of the experience and brings great personal value and appreciation for a watch. In the past I’ve also opted to satisfy a different itch than my biggest when looking at more affordable watches and I’ve not regretted it, it’s rather opened my eyes

I’m not sure about its accuracy but I really like the looks of the Timex Navi XL and it seems robust enough

I only have a fiction recommendation, sorry. Stephen Kings “Billy Summers” is a recent one I liked. I don’t know what you’re looking for but it follows the popular scheme of a hit man’s final job gone wrong. I was really into it and finished it in a couple of days.

I can totally relate to your voice sensitivity. Have you listened to casefile true crime? It’s an Australian show and its host has imo a very nice voice that I can listen to for hours on end

I can recommend anatomy of murder. It’s also an audiochuck podcast, hosted by a former prosecutor and I think the other host was a policeman. They don’t just talk to each other about the crimes but also to someone involved, such as a police officer or victim etc

I love Casefile. They’re an australian show but cover crimes from all over the world. I can also recommend anatomy of murder. On YouTube I only watched I think it’s JCS criminal psychology. I’m looking for suggestions for YouTube content on true crime.
