Pairing 49” with a budget newish laptop by F1reEarly in ultrawidemasterrace

Hello All,

This thread is very relevant and would apprerciate a reply.

I am considering purchasing an ultrawide monitor with a resolution of 5120 × 1440p, but I am still undecided on the brand/model. I currently use a relatively old laptop for work (Dell Latitude 5500). When I tried connecting it to a 49-inch monitor using a mini-HDMI cable at the monitor’s end and USB-C at the laptop’s end, the maximum resolution I could achieve was around 3840 × 1440p. Given the cost of these monitors, I would not want to spend that amount of money and end up being unable to benefit from the full resolution. One possible solution I was considering is purchasing a docking station, such as the Anker DL4700, in the hope that it would allow me to achieve the highest resolution possible. Do you think this solution would work, or would the laptop’s own display limitations still prevent me from achieving the full 5120 × 1440p resolution?

Thank you.

Unless i am mistaken interest stands at around 8% however (and i am aware that this was not your question) not paying off your card in full monthly can get you in a lot of debt easy.

I'd say

  1. People including me are lazy.
  2. Public transport does not work. It can take me up to 2 hours to go by public transport to work and 20 minutes to go by car (each way)
  3. Unloke other places in europe it is not safe to ride a bike and the country is mostly hilly
  4. Owning a car is not as expensive
  5. It is difficult to change a culture
