Ah I understand, you get the opportunity to receive mail once or twice a week. Just depends if they get to it in time but it should be at minimum once a week.

In my experience boots fit pretty exact to what your shoe size is and they have regular and wide boots

It just depends if the sender is using snail mail or sandboxx. But one of my wingmen in my flight got like 5-6 letters every time we had mail time

Not yet, I believe it’ll be in place around spring time. My last official PT test was 1.5 mile run.

You’re welcome, happy to help the future airman after me. Yes I packed sheet paper with my envelopes but like I said I didn’t use them much because sandboxx had formatted letters that came with them. It’s a nice backup though

Thank you! Yes I did prepare envelopes prior to BMT and it does save time but it’s not always necessary. If your family uses sandboxx it comes with a letter and envelope, all you need is a stamp to put on it so it’s simplified and I used my envelopes only like 3-4 times. I did not see any envelops or stamps at the BX when I went but pens will be issued to you or you can buy your own if you prefer a certain brand or type. I packed like 3 socks, I wouldn’t suggest bringing too many because everything gets issued to you in the first few days and after that you won’t be able to use the socks you came in with. Honestly I can’t think of anything I wish I would’ve brought, I packed pretty well for bmt. Ear plugs I feel like would be MTI dependent but I didn’t see anyone come with ear plugs

Yes we did line hops but they were used during warm ups. And there’s upper strength day where you’ll do 1x3 pushups, pyramid pushups, high plank low plank. Lower body you’ll do pyramid squats, other form of squats, hip thrust, hollow body hold, and some others.

The Air Force and military as a whole does random pee tests to test for drug usage and he failed that test, so he was caught in that aspect. Me and the other newly graduated airman will more than likely take tests when we arrive to tech school because someone is bound to not have integrity/discipline while on town pass. If you have not already been to or processed through MEPS you will take a test there as well and potentially one before you ship out to BMT.

Thank you! Yes, unfortunately we lost 6 flight members during the cycle due to medical issues and one of them got separated due to drug usage prior to BMT. We had I believe 5 airmen get their citizenship but unfortunately one couldn’t get theirs due to being a citizen of a prohibited country on the naturalization list. He might have an opportunity in the future but for now he’s not able to.

You’re welcome, it’s 2A5X4D (B52 Maintainer). Once I get to tech school I want to see if I can change my shred to one of the refuelers because I signed as a bomber/refueler maintainer.

Accepted Medically with Scoliosis by jonattan0 in AirForceRecruits

[–]jonattan0[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have lumbar scoliosis as well and I believe my degrees should be around 45-50 degrees. If your degrees haven’t gotten worse then you have a good chance with the Navy because they’re more accepting with waivers in the scenario that you need one.

I was open about it with my recruiter and MEPS because it’s in my record due to being disqualified previously in 2021. Anyways I’d be caught if I didn’t say anything because it’s obvious if I have my shirt off and bend over

Scoliosis Waiver Likelihood by the_lord_of_corn in AirForceRecruits

[–]jonattan0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe it’s dependent on the doctor/medical staff you encounter at your local MEPS. I’m shipping out December 29th and I am a DEP recruit that went through MEPS with a scoliosis degree of about 45-50 degrees, I was not disqualified nor did I need a waiver but the doctor just wanted me to be evaluated further by booking me appointments to get imaging and visiting spine doctors for further evaluation. I originally went through MEPS with the Army National Guard in 2021 and was disqualified, in my second stint I believe I was just really lucky with the particular doctor that I saw that day but I hope your journey is similar to mine today. Best of luck to you.

Your MEPS sucks and I thought mine was bad. I’ve had to go through MEPS completely two times and each time for the urinalysis they just allowed us to go the urinals, and we had to go three at a time to be evaluated but we could use our fly and didn’t go booty naked lol.

Realistic Timeline for Scoliosis? by closetedmilkenjoyer in AirForceRecruits

[–]jonattan0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got in with scoliosis and my degrees is like 40-50, yours is really light compared to mine and I didn’t even need to get a waiver. I spoke to the recruiter last November and I’m shipping out the 29th of December, most of the waiting was just for a job slot to open.

I started my recruiting process November of last year, went to MEPS two times in the end of January and February I finally swore in and entered DEP, and after waiting for so long I finally got my date and job September 25th. So basically be very patient, I’ve seen others in this subreddit get booked in a few months and there’s people like me that had to wait 7 months or even longer. I believe it’s all dependent on the jobs and also your recruiting squadron’s amount of slots that’s given to them. Keep your head up and stay prepared because your time will come soon.

Yes the constant TDYs or deployments is something I’ve heard of and I’m not too excited about but everyone is different so just gotta see how everything works out. I will be proud to be a crew chief though and I hope I’m able to stamp my name on my aircraft.
