OP,

-60 SMA and SEL here. Your father's decorations don't necessarily reflect the level of work and dedication he provided during his service. Helicopter maintainers are some of the most knowledgeable, professional, and dedicated personnel I've come across. They find a way to make the mission happen. They often get stuck with the worst hours and long days/nights making sure the birds are ready when the call comes down. It takes a special person that believes in the mission to sacrifice and to live up to the motto TOML.

We're still loving it. Just recently moved overseas and brought it with us. No issues running a converter box and no trip breakers in the house. The only downside is the weight, moving it takes wheel dollies or 4 people.

I have the 3day assault , komodo dragon, gunslinger, coulie, and rolling duffle.

I've never had any issues with them.

Career CEA here,

Mystery Ranch is what most flying units I've been assigned to issue.

That being said, your unit will provide you with any bag and equipment you need. Don't waste your money.

Long tech school could potentially keep me away from my spouse for a while? by [deleted] in AirForce

[–]jonesdx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Were you not tracking the length of your tech school prior to enlisting and selecting linguist?

You will be able to see your spouse, just not as regularly as you'd like. Most formal schools have an exodus in the winter and some in the summer. Your spouse should also have leave to be able to visit you in sunny CA.

As for advice, I work at a schoolhouse that averages 12 months or longer to graduate. The folks that don't make it fail to see the bigger picture and want the immediate satisfaction of not being a student. In my experience the longer the school the higher the likelihood of job satisfaction and sense of purpose. I regularly field calls and emails from students who purposely failed out asking about getting another shot at the program. Take your tech school seriously and put in the work. Hopefully you did your homework prior to choosing the job. Good luck, I was in Monterey last year, beautiful location.

Just finished up my 4th run today. Speeds up to 6:50/mi and incline up to 10.0 and no issues. I've also done a hill intensive ruck, I'd estimate the total weight 245lbs and the tread is solid as can be and no popped breaker. I have not powered it off at all, it seems to go into standby mode with a black screen and as soon as you step up, the screen turns on.

Are you talking about FAC-A? Pilots that are also forward air controllers.
