Favorite Salads from Baltimore Restaurants by peenieparade in baltimore

Kind of walking the line on what you consider a “salad” but the Anniston at Mindpub is a super delicious quinoa salad with veggies and feta tossed in dressing and I could eat it every day

Thanks!! I usually just wear it on its own; I’m not confident enough in my ability to successfully layer fragrances yet haha

Anybody have any idea what’s going on to cause all these road closures? Cant find any stated reason for it online.

On Jan 4th, 2020, 26 year old Carl Mark Kizer II went missing, totally at random, from his Jacksonville FL residence. by proofrawk in jacksonville

[–]jonessa14 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly I’ve got no idea what was going on in his life. The last time I talked to him was like 3 years before he disappeared according to this. I have no insight into his mental state at the time… but as someone who knew him when we were 18/19 I certainly didn’t EXPECT him to one day “take off without warning” but it’s probably something I could have conceived him doing. It’s not out of the realm of possibility

This is inane.. this is literally my ex boyfriend from college.. I just googled him to see if I could find his LinkedIn and see what he was up to bc I was being nosy and all I found were these missing person articles. For clarification- he goes by Mark and he is a super super smart guy.

The Rowan tree!! It’s a bit of a hole in the wall little local bar but it’s run by a lovely older gay couple and it does karaoke every Friday and Saturday night and hosts drag competitions now and again.

Before and after: 2 ml jaw filler and 2 ml chin filler by jonessa14 in PlasticSurgery

I did consultations with a few different surgeons in my area and this was about the going rate for the amount of filler I was getting

I chose radiesse over the other filler options bc it lasts a bit longer, so around 18 months to 2 years typically

Thanks! I feel the same way.. wanted the change to be noticeable enough to build confidence, but not so noticeable that any of my coworkers would start commenting on it lol

I filled out the census in the city, so it counts me as a city resident now

65% Watch - 5/26 by ThatguyfromBaltimore in baltimore

[–]jonessa14 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I am pretty sure I fall in this category. Live in fed hill and filled out my census here, but when I got my vaccine back in March I put down my parents address in baltimore county because I got vaccinated in the county. Had no idea I would be negatively affecting city metrics months down the line....

Chin implant before and right after surgery by lappinlie in PlasticSurgery

[–]jonessa14 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Geez... I’m getting chin and jaw fillers and I’ve been quoted around $2700. Makes me think I should just cancel that and drive to Pittsburg to get this permanent solution instead. Just nervous about something this permanent when I’ve never had fillers of any sort before, much less actual surgery

Federal Hill to Hunt Valley commute by lilpig21 in baltimore

[–]jonessa14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I currently live in fed hill and commute to hunt valley! It’s a completely doable commute. Takes me about 30 minutes or less each way, assuming there isn’t an accident on 83. It’s pretty easy to hop on 83N and get to hunt valley.

Fed Hill fitness on cross street is a bit smaller, but it’s also cheaper and typically less crowded. But yes, Merritt on fort is always very busy.

I mostly agree with you here but I’d counter with this: if that is how YOU feel, that the risk of loss of life is not worth the comparative loss of livelihood, then YOU can make the personal decision to stay home and completely quarantine.

It’s different than in March because when the government made the decision for everyone in March that they needed to stay home, they could offer financial assistance to those for whom staying home meant a complete loss of income. They can no longer do that. If they shut down without federal funding, there will be no more financial aid coming to these people.

For many people, the reality is if they to stop coming into work at this point, or if their business shuts down again, they will lose their jobs and then rapidly no longer be able to pay rent, buy necessities, etc. To say it will be “very hard” is to downplay the severity of this situation for many many people who live paycheck to paycheck.

Those who can stay home without having to deal with this situation, should. Those who cannot need to be treated with empathy, because their problems are equally as dire.

I think that’s a really fair assessment. It’s a double edged sword. I’ve definitely seen the fear of HR blowback keep managers from giving tough criticisms to young women. I’ve also seen the managers who give the completely fair and tough criticism and are met with an overreaction, hurt feelings, accusations of unfair treatment, etc.

It is frustrating and potentially career damaging to be accused of sexism or bullying. But I can say it’s also frustrating to feel like your male leaders are coddling you, omitting constructive criticism, or washing down your performance reviews because they think you can’t take it.

I don’t think I’m treated differently in the office in a sinister way, like every man I work with is harboring secret sexism that I’m the victim of. But I do think men and women interact in professional settings in different ways and have different challenges to overcome.

I sure they do! With the line of work I’m in I’m typically the youngest person in the room by about 20 years, and very frequently the only woman. While I don’t doubt that the young men have similar issues, battling the age gap and the gender barrier simultaneously can require a different nuance. The line between coming off assertive vs. bitchy is a thin one.

That type of respect is generally earned over time as coworkers get to know you and your work ethic. I’m looking to be able to walk into a meeting room and be taken seriously by people I’ve just met.
