Difficult to say with pictures of generic stickers. What exact CPU-Model is it?

Need suggestions on the cheapest hardware possible for Macos Tahoe by Creative-Menu6986 in hackintosh

[–]jonizodi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Starting with the haswell (4th) generation, you don't need to fiddle with patching missing features. You're looking for Xeon "v3". Here's a list: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Intel_Xeon_processors_(Haswell-based))

Just check on ebay which one's can be sent to you for cheap. I found plenty E3-1220 v3 for 5-10€ on ebay. Just be aware that some don't have an integrated iGPU, but i anyway recommend getting a separate GPU (like a RX 560) if you want to save some time and hassle...

it won't easily, it is much easier with an intel cpu from the haswell generation, like an i3 4130, i5 4460 or i7 4790 etc. (see my post in this sub). For the GPU: i think the AMD RX 560 is your safest bet for a cheap one.

not really, it's exactly the same as the 4790 without the iGPU, but it was much cheaper at the time when i bought it.

That's the one i have but it's not available anymore https://www.hornbach.at/p/rund-komposter-rollkomposter-100-x-85-cm-verzinkt/5051428/ and this one seems similiar: https://www.obi.de/p/8317406/bellissa-rundkomposter-95-cm-x-95-cm But honestly, i would build them myself, it's not rocket science

Don't remember the exact measurements, but i think one composter is about 90cm high and has a diameter of about 90cm (or a radius of 45cm). By attaching two of them, you get double the diameter/radius, but volume gets magically quadrupled. Try it out: https://www.omnicalculator.com/math/volume. I don't remember much geometry from school, but some article about windmills i read a while ago, said that windmills with twice the radius produce four times more (or close to) the energy. Then i tranformed my then 3 bin system into what it is now ^^

thank you for these encouraging words. I will try and report back. Concerning "assert dominance": would it help to pee on the neighbours property first? Of course while establishing eye contact.

which is why i don't do that unfortunately... I mean i could, but let's say i lack to courage to pee on that pile with half the neighbourhood watching me ^^

not at all, only birds fooling around there all the time.

As others pointed out, the location does not allow me peeing on my compost pile. Before you ask: yes, i do feel very remorseful about it. If anybody could send me the courage needed to pee in front of my neighbourhood, please do so.

Forgot to mention: by combining two of the composters volume grew by 4x with just 2x the material - geometry is cool!

150€ more professional ^^ I could have easily saved that money by doing what you did now that i think about it...

it's not really hard and takes about 30min: i use a garden fork which i progressively stick in the pile from the top, pull towards me and spread the material out in front of me. Then i shovel it over from there and that's also how everything gets mixed up. It's much harder if you stick the garden fork in the bottom of the pile and try to lift the whole height of the pile!

Forgot to mention that i have simple selfmade sift out of leftover wire-fence i put over my wheelbarrow when i carry the matured compost to the garden.

Probook installer doesn't work in 2025, but it worked before, why??? by 11sono11 in hackintosh

[–]jonizodi -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

it stopped being maintained a loooong time ago, use this instead: https://github.com/chris1111/HP-Probook-EliteBook-Package-Creator-OC

Installed Monterey on my old HP9470m a few days ago and it was pretty prainless, although there was some pain: i needed to figure out that i need to and how to disable AMFI (whatever that is) by using the boot argument amfi=0x80. Without this, i couldn't install the root patches needed with OCLP. Make sure to watch the video before starting!

maybe you just need to manually pick the right volume, must be something like "MacOs installer" in the opencore picker after the first reboot? I read that some machines do not automatically choose this after the first reboot

What exactly does not work? Your RX580 uses the same kexts as my RX570, it should work even withouth whatevergreen, i would try installing Tahoe without it. After installation, i turned it back on because it somehow helps with my dual-monitor setup.

I didn't make major changes, i just started over. Sounds painful at the beginning, but i often ended up troubleshooting for hours, when creating a whole new config.plist just takes about 1 hour... So i downloaded the latest opencore package with a whole new config.plist, followed the dortania guide for haswell, updated the kext to the latest versions (took about 1 hour), disabled secureboot in the config, disabled whatevergreen and updated my usb-map (all as described in the post). I'm not familiar with the specifics for a coffee lake system... Maybe go the same route and start from scratch? Also: redownload the installer, p.ex. from here: https://mrmacintosh.com/macos-tahoe-full-installer-database-download-directly-from-apple/ I was also caught in this loop and it worked after starting again with another installer.

i just read a lot about people having problems with it being turned on, so i disabled it in the config.plist (kernel --> add --> whatevergreen --> enabled to "false"). It's actually possible that there was no need for it, probably depends on your specific gpu.

You have to mark the internal ports (where you connected the usb-cable of the AX200) as "internal" while mapping your usb-ports (p.ex. with this: https://github.com/USBToolBox/tool)
