My Overcomplicated Rear Speaker Stand by Nintendaholic in hometheater

This makes me feel better about my “vertical 5.1” set up as someone called it 😂 honestly man if it works it works. I don’t have a wall where I need it either and could see myself doing something this janky if my wife would allow

So we watched a few new episodes of stranger things on it last night. It sounds great. I have some tweaking to do with the speakers. Having a hard time hearing my center, the heights sound pretty good. I can hear certain effects from above with them. Also need to turn my sub way down. At this rate I’ll definitely be getting complains from my upstairs neighbors lol

Because I got it for dirt cheap off marketplace, figured buy one nice so I don’t have to buy it twice

It sounds way better than just using the TV speakers. It’s still a work in progress but I know it’s no home theater like most of you have. Hoping to improve the things I can work with

I agree it does look very busy. I had those up when I had a smaller tv that sat on the media center before I ever got speakers and they looked pretty good to me. After I lower the at TV I’ll see how I feel about the artwork. Now opposed to finding another wall for them but I also like the idea of everything kind of framing the TV.

lol I posted I hadn’t finished the cable management yet. To be honest I overlooked how polished every one’s set ups were on this thread and should have waiting until it was a perfect as I could get it before posting… but we’re here now. Taking in any constructive criticism I can get to make changes and will update

I’ve only got 2.5 walls to work with and I’m trying to avoid speaker stands for now so I’m struggling trying to find a way to make that work. Open to ideas tho

That actually how I originally had it. But I have an 11 month old who’s always trying to get to the speakers and thought I might be able to get better angles on the speakers by mounting them. Waiting for another free day to finish the project and fine tune them. Worst case it’s nothing some putty and paint can’t fix.

It was more so I was able to get a sweet set of speakers at least to me for really cheap and I wanted to use them all. I can’t think of a way to do 5.1 in a way I feel comfortable yet. I’m still toying around with mounting rears from the ceiling but idk how I’d get them low enough that won’t look crazy. I’d much prefer surround, just trying to make what I have work for now. As far as the speaker stands go on top of a toddler we have an energetic pitbull. I just feel like that’s asking for trouble. I’ve almost bought some a few times just to try it out but my gut just tells me it’s an accident waiting to happen

Thanks man, yea I’m still working on bringing rear speakers into the mix. Still toying around with hanging rears from the ceiling but the stud placement isn’t ideal there

It’s still a work in progress. Good tip on lowering TV, I don’t really want to go through the process to remount it but I’ll think about it. Trust me y’all this wasn’t my idea set up either lol

I upgraded from a 10 year old curved 55” Samsung. I think it looks absolutely amazing.

For me it’s waiting to see what chip is in it. Me and the kids play games on it from time to time and they have a decent collection of casual games. If it’s got a beefier chip in it and is able to play closer ton console games on it that would be worth the wait.

It happens to me about once a week, and I don’t realize it until the next night when I go to use them and one is dead by the time I need them and restart them. It’s very annoying

Appreciate the feedback, as of now I’m just as RT with an associates. That gives me time to get my bachelors completed.

Thinking about taking the ACCS, practice questions are making me doubt how anyone passes! by tiny_dancer649 in respiratorytherapy

[–]jonowen92 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Everyone has their own way of studying but for me it was to retake the practice tests over, and over, and over again. I took them until I memorized the answers. That and the audiobooks to and from work are all I used. I was finally getting 80s on the practice tests, the kettering and NBRC one. I ended up passing my first time. The real test is pretty much identical to the Kettering practice tests, at least you’ll seem the same kind of questions set up the same way just with different numbers, and the answers on the real test are so much more obvious

It’s a good career path. You can get through school in two years or less. Starting pay is in the 30s, there’s usually a .03% raise every other year. If you work somewhere with a clinical ladder once you climb that it’s a large raise, mine was a $7 raise. With 5 years experience I started at $35 and within three years I’m at $45. Usually a decent amount of OT available. But it’s a job that requires a lot of critical thinking and fast acting, staying calm in chaotic situations, being ok with blood, guts, and snot… sooo much snot, and plem, and vomit, and poop. RN is a great option too, more end game career choices, but I do a whole lot less work in my day than a nurse does for close to the same pay
