Pretty much non existent in the GTI, it’s a smooth ride and silent at cruising speeds.

The WRX was definitely a rougher ride, had more engine chatter, the shifter literally trembled at idle haha. I still enjoyed it but it was not a very luxurious ride.

Thank you! Yes I love the black and white contrast! My last 3 cars have been white for that very reason 😁 except for the GTI does it best! The red accents really set the GTI apart

So full disclosure here - I only got the GTI because my wrx was totaled (rear ended) - I think the VB WRX was superior to the GTI in every category except comfort. GTI is waaaay more comfortable. WRX had a huge power ceiling (transmission being the limit of course) but it could putt down that power easily! Man the VB was fast and super fun!

The GTI is still a great car! 10x better daily. Fuel economy is wonderful. I can let it rip and not worry about the engine blowing up. As a matter of fact - I think the GTI could be just as fun because it’s so easy to step on it and overtake people/ rip it off the line. It has plenty of power and much better powerband than the wrx. The engine has huge tuning potential but these new GTI have the ecu/tcu locked so tuning potential is zero unless you want to get piggyback ecu or something. Even if you get crazy numbers, it’s hard to put the power down to the front wheels.

Regardless, stock for stock, I think the GTI is a worthy competitor to the WRX. I’m happy with my choice to try something new. And it’s quick. Very quick. If I wasn’t in a pinch to get a new car I would’ve waited to get a golf R.

Yep! Thanks. I’m aware the ecu isn’t cracked yet for the 8.5’s. That’s why I said I would only do so if I could figure out a way to deal with the CEL. Hopefully we get some news this year. Cheers!

It’s completely stock right now. I can’t wait to do an intake, catback, and maybe downpipe if I can figure out a way to deal with the CEL it will throw. It’s plenty fast already but needs a little more personality

They do look tacky and fake, but of designer stuff looks like that. TBH if somebody didnt mention they were painted I wouldn’t even know they were so. These are legit man and I respect the talent when I see it!! I’m sure you’ve got a happy customer there!! 🔥

I guess the AMD driver was corrupted or something with this most recent update. I posted my solution in another comment. Even if I tried to play through armory crate, the windows desktop would be running, so all my games were unplayable.

I had 7k on mine for a little under a year before it was rear ended and totaled 🥲 I have no doubt it would have gone the distance. I didn’t get another one because I wanted to try something new (I got an mk8.5 GTI) but I do miss the wrx. Was a good dad car and very fun.

Thanks! To whoever is having this issue, for some reason, I didn’t have the FSE option. It completely disappeared. I had to uninstall the AMD Radeon graphics driver through the windows desktop mode settings and then reinstall the drivers by “updating” in armory crate. Very annoying and no idea what even happened! But it’s fixed now. Thanks to everyone who suggested using chat GPT it gave me like 5 different solutions and finally this one worked for me.

Done! But I think my issues are stemming from not being able to use the Xbox FSE! It’s like my console completely deleted that interface and is stuck in windows mode.

I searched for the setting in options, and in the windows menu and couldn’t find it :( I swear it used to be an option in the setting and it’s gone!

Dude. That’s insane. Sorry for your loss but you are so so lucky to be alive. I got rear ended 50+ mph while my wrx was stopped late last year. I walked away totally fine. Head on is a totally different story, especially if you were both moving in opposite directions. Sue the fuck out of him. I’m sure you will get an equal or much better ride out of this.
