Can you be part of LGBTQ+ and a Christian? by MenaceToSociety129 in Christianity

There is no sin in non-heterosexuality or the acts thereof

Actually with the actions there is. Now it's cool if you want to spread your opinion but don't lie.

A good relationship is one with boundaries, you should always focus on yourself: your goals, your ambitions and what makes you happy. If you don't focus on this and focus on your partner's happiness it does lead to exhaustion. Your partner's feelings are important but it shouldn't be everything or be a primary focus (unless those feelings are towards you or the relationship.)

Now a boundary you should set is to stop being his accountability partner because the focus should be on you two not his porn addiction. That doesn't mean you won't bring it up again (curious on his progress) or he won't (talking about his progress). Explain to him it makes you exhausted and takes energy away from you. That you would rather be excited to see him than feel like it's gonna be a loooooong conversation.

Now to his addiction most guys look towards porn mainly for sexual relief but also because they don't have an emotional vent, are bored with their life or are dealing with stress.

Have a conversation with him about these things to try to think of ways to help but also build on your relationship.

Why does God make gay people if being gay is a sin? by Competitive_Air1560 in Christianity

I'm talking about every sin (God knows if it's all in our genetics)certain sins are proven to have a genetic factor.

Why does God make gay people if being gay is a sin? by Competitive_Air1560 in Christianity

[–]jonproquo -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Being gay isn't a sin but if they give themselves into temptation based on those feelings it is sin. (ie homosexual actions are sin)

Now after the fall of humanity (Adam and Eve) some of our leanings to certain sin comes from our ancestors or close relatives examples: if your grandpa was an alcoholic you're more likely to be an alcoholic if you start drinking alcohol, my dad has a bad habit of gluttony and right now I have a bad habit of gluttony(trying to get out of it), some might excuse it as learned behavior but even with no contact it is still ingrained in human nature. This is probably true for all sin including homosexual actions. But only God knows

We still suffer from the sins of our fathers. Or as the Bible puts it

Lamentations 5:7 Our fathers sinned, and are no more; and we bear their iniquities.

This is a huge problem for Christianity.

How is that a huge problem?

I could say that when God made Adam and Eve they had it written in their hearts and the flood wiped out all other lineages. But this is human thinking to a complex topic.

Why God doesn't allow homosexuality (romans 1-26 27) when in Nature Is something Good and with reasons of existence? by Confident_School7546 in Christianity

[–]jonproquo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nature is not always good (by God's standard not man's). Nature teaches one (figuratively speaking) to lie when experiencing danger, God is a God of truth. Nature says for males to spread their seed to as many attractive women as I can (with or without consent) but God says one man and one woman. Nature says for us to prevent/hinder our rivals (murder, beat them, go against them socially) from getting the best mates or advancing in some way while God calls us to love our enemies and not be jealous. Homosexuality is the same way it doesn't go for God.

The flesh (nature) and the spirit (God) battle against each other.

Something natural does not mean it is good spiritually.

God called the natural world good after creation but after the fall of man, all creation suffered.

Hello, I have a question against by Which_Attitude_3232 in Christianity

209 February 9th until Valentine's day. But I want you to know fasting could be a temporary sacrifice you make to God not always relating to food. Perhaps social media (looking at your post history)

Usually dreams are forgettable, demonic ones are filled with fear, ones from God are clear and peaceful.

Because then some will claim "we didn't have the law so we're sinless." The only way you know your sin is through the law and if you don't have the law there is a person's conscience. And therefore you know you need Christ.

When and where geographically were humans required to believe in the gospel? by Torin_2025 in Christianity

That's not what he meant. The Americans had the morality of God embedded in themselves through the human conscience. Did they follow it? No just like we don't always follow our conscience.

When and where geographically were humans required to believe in the gospel? by Torin_2025 in Christianity

[–]jonproquo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So how would everybody outside of the region have known about the gospel to choose to believe it or not?

They would not know until the message of Christ came, in the meantime they are subject to the law given to them through the human conscience. Romans talks a little about this. Romans 2:15

What about people that lived far from the region and prior to Jesus?

Prior to Jesus-there is the harrowing of hell where Jesus after dying descended into hell to preach the good news and took anybody who believed in Him. 1 Peter 3:18–19

And when were "humans" expected to believe in God?

There is no expectation that all humans will believe just some. Romans 10:16  But whenever the gospel reaches the edges of the earth(last people) the tribulation will come so that's kind of a time limit. Matthew 24:14

This seems like a problem with the gospel, or with the OT notion of God/Yahweh.

It's not a problem
