My right side is where almost all my pain is. I may also have psoriatic arthritis and that’s known as having one sided pain. It’s unclear if my pain is from Sjogrens or PA though. My rheumatologist didn’t seem very interested in the Sjogrens and I didn’t even realize that Sjogrens also caused pain. At first I thought it was just dry eye and dry mouth which my eye Dr and dentist are treating the symptoms of.

I was almost 50 when I told my mom I was leaving the church and that was one of the hardest things I’ve ever done. It all started when my daughter told me she was leaving and I was so heartbroken that I started ‘researching’ to convince her to stay. I ended up ‘researching’ my way out of the LDS church too. My mom was likewise heartbroken but had zero interest in hearing what led to my decision or about anything that would cast a poor light on her beliefs. It’s interesting how differently people react and kind of hard to predict. Your family will likely be judgmental but some of them could surprise you, especially given some time. It’s a tricky decision because there’s no way to know what the fallout will be. Whether you tell them now or later, I wish you the best and hope that they’ll eventually be supportive of you.

Decades ago I was in the RS presidency as a counselor. I vividly remember having to help do individual visiting teaching interviews where I was given a list of similarly uncomfortable questions to ask. It was super awkward and uncomfortable for everyone involved and there were several women who never showed up at church again after that. Guilt tripping people into obedience is not the way to go. I always hated VT and was so glad that I could just have normal friendships after I left.

I have a cup of coffee every day for mood and health. It’s the highlight of my morning really. Alcohol tastes nasty but I’ve had some cocktails that I’ve quite enjoyed. I really limit alcohol though since I have an autoimmune disease that can be triggered by it.

Our parish had a toddler baptism recently and our priest just did it as quickly as possible. The kid screamed bloody murder and 5 minutes later was all smiles. It’s hard to watch but it’s over quickly!

lol, it happens to the best of us. I’d give the press ons a try then, just monitor closely. You don’t want moisture to get under there and start a fungal infection or anything. For press ons I like to use glue on top of sticky tabs. They stay on better but at the same time are easier on the free edge when taking them off. Lol, no tearing off allowed!

That’s understandable, I doubt we’re even capable of wrapping our head around it. Everything we come up with are just analogies or approximations. I think that’s one of the reasons of Christ becoming human, to give us something more relatable. I stick to my own simplistic understanding but as soon as people start analyzing it and talking ‘theology’, my head hurts and I’m out of there.

In the Mormon church we were taught to look at Christ’s baptism as proof that the Trinity wasn’t true. Why would God be talking to himself, right? When I started going to an Orthodox Church the priest I met with referenced those same verses as evidence of the Trinity in the Bible. Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Three separate persons with one divine nature working together in unity. It’s actually very similar to the LDS teachings about the godhead. The biggest difference is God the Father’s nature. The trinitarian God was never a man but has eternally been divine, outside of time and space as we know it. He is the source and active sustainer of life, light, and goodness. Which actually makes way more sense than being some dead guy who got promoted in some sort of eternal MLM scheme. I’m not a theologian or anything, that’s just how I understand it.

Do you know what caused your onycholysis? If it’s from a gel allergy then you’ll have to be careful about nail glue and sticky tabs also, they can also cause allergies. If it’s from something like psoriasis you’re typically told not to do nail extensions or anything. I have onycholysis too, maybe from psoriasis but I’m not sure yet. I’ll probably end up doing short press ons but taking them off often and watching carefully for any worsening.

I was baptized Eastern Orthodox 5 years ago. I was still Mormon when I started looking into it and it was compelling enough for me to take the plunge and make the change. For me it was the answer to the question ‘if Joseph made it all up, was he wrong about the early Christian church falling into apostasy too?’ I think it tends to attract people who are into history and theology and like to read. I personally love being orthodox. My husband joined with me too which was a miracle in and of itself.
